What was Nicole Curran Talking to Jay-Z About in the Clip That Upset the Beyhive?
While this is all well and good for Beyonce, it’s pretty treacherous territory for anyone who the hive feels has wronged the singer. Golden State Warriors’ owner Joe Lacob’s wife Nicole Curran found that out the hard way.
A short clip that made its way to the internet this week showed Curran leaning over Beyonce to speak to JAY-Z. In the clip, Beyonce did not engage in the conversation at all and didn’t even look at Curran. Seeing the annoyed look on the queen’s face, the Beyhive automatically went into defense mode.
Ever since Beyonce’s 2016 release of Lemonade, fans have been on edge when JAY-Z talks to any woman that isn’t his wife.
In a matter of minutes, fans had found Curran’s Instagram and littered the comments’ section with bees and threats.
So, what was Curran saying to JAY-Z that was so important that she would risk such torment?
What was Curran saying to JAY-Z?
For Curran, her interaction with the rapper was completely innocent. She had invited JAY-Z and Beyonce to the game as her guests. Right before the clip began, Curran said she had offered the couple drinks.
“Just spoke to Nicole Curran, the wife of Warriors owner Joe Lacob, about the ‘incident’ with Beyoncé last night,” ESPN reporter Ramona Shelburne tweeted. “She was in tears. Said she had been getting death threats on social media all night this morning she disabled her IG account just to make it stop.”
“Curran says Jay Z asked for a vodka soda,” another tweet read. “She asked if he wanted lime with that. But it was loud in Oracle and she couldn’t hear, so she leaned over. That’s where the photos of Beyoncé looking askance at her come from.”
“Curran says she then went to go get them those drinks. ‘There was no hostility. I was trying to be a good hostess,’ she said. ‘I’ve never experienced cyberbullying like this. I can’t believe our players go through this. That kids go through this.'”
What does Curran have to say about the incident?
Since all of this drama started, Curran posted a picture of her fixing Beyonce’s hair at the game to show that there was no bad blood between her and the singer.
“We should all help and support each other,” she captioned the picture.
In the comments’ section, she went on to express her love for Beyonce.
“Listen Beehive,” she wrote. “I respect Queen B. I love her! I talked to her husband twice tonight. First, to take a drink order for them both when they arrived as they were our guests.”
“Second to explain why I gave his wife a rose from a fan,” she finished. “All of this has been taken out of context. I am a happily married woman. Telling me to kill myself????? Somehow I don’t think she would support this.”
