If ‘Tiger King’ Releases a New Episode, What Will It Reveal?

Fans of Joseph Maldonado-Passage — better known as Joe Exotic — might be in for a treat. His former business partner and new owner of the G.W. Zoo, Jeff Lowe, claimed that a new episode of Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness is going to be released.

Between the creators of the Tiger King series teasing a second season and Lowe’s shocking announcement, fans are wondering if there a new episode of Tiger King is released, what will it reveal?

Jeff Lowe announced a new episode of ‘Tiger King’

Lowe created a video for his Cameo account claiming that Netflix would be back to film another episode of Tiger King. “Netflix is adding one more episode, we’ll be on next week. We’re filming here tomorrow,” Lowe explained in the clip.

Cameo is a service that allows the purchase of customized videos made by celebrities or personalities. Pro-baseball player Justin Turner received the video of Lowe via Cameo after his wife Kourtney discussed the docuseries on her podcast, Holding Kourt. Turner shared it on Twitter and sent Tiger King fans into a tizzy.

The fact that Lowe made such a claim in a Cameo instead of posting confirmation of the “new episode” on his social media accounts left many people wondering if it was true or not.

Is a new episode of ‘Tiger King’ going to be released?

Representatives for Netflix haven’t commented on whether or not Lowe’s claim is valid. But, if there is a new episode of Tiger King, this wouldn’t be the first time the streaming platform dropped new content for a wildly popular series without an announcement. After the success of Love Is Blind, the streaming platform quickly put together a surprise reunion episode.

While this wouldn’t be the first time Netflix has surprised fans with new content, it’s more realistic that Lowe’s claim wasn’t true. Many Netflix shows have suspended production, so if other movies and series can’t film new content, how would Netflix send a film crew to Lowe to film?

Unless a new episode of Tiger King could be recorded while safely practicing social distancing, it’s probably not going to happen — at least not yet.

What the new episode of ‘Tiger King’ might reveal

Only time will tell if Netflix is going to release a new episode of the viral success that is Tiger King. Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin, the creators of the docuseries, told Entertainment Weekly that the story was “To be continued.” Chaiklin went on to say that they “have a crazy amount of footage, and it’s a story that’s still unfolding.”

What kind of footage could Goode and Chaiklin have in their possession? Do they have any more information from Rick Kirkham, the reality television producer who said he had footage of Maldonado-Passage “killing animals on [the] park” and footage of him tricking people by taking in their animals?

Perhaps the new footage will include an update on Lowe’s new zoo. When the series ended, Lowe saw Maldonado-Passage’s unfortunate financial situation and invested in the zoo. But according to Goode, the zoo has yet to become profitable. In his interview with Entertainment Weekly, Goode shared:

I got a very long text today from Jeff Lowes, who is running Joe’s old zoo. All I can tell you is that he is basically operating on fumes. No one is going now and there’s no source of income, and that’s been going on for a long time.

What about a ‘Tiger King’ reunion?

Dillon Passage — Maldonado-Passage‘s husband — was a guest on Andy Cohen Live, where he revealed some intel on the rumored Tiger King reunion show.

Passage believes “it’s going to be like a live-based episode I believe, kind of like a reunion,” but one that he won’t be a part of. “I only spoke with one of the producers for a little while about it,” Passage said, adding that it will be more like a “talent interview” than anything else.

Chaiklin made it seem like their footage was already filmed and that it just needed to be formatted in a way that tells a story.

Lowe implied Netflix would be sending crews to film new footage for the upcoming episode.

Passage claims Netflix is going to put together a Tiger King reunion. Which is the truth?

Regardless, fans are eager for more Tiger King footage in whatever format it’s presented. All we can do now is pay close attention to Netflix’s next move.
