What’s Next for Wendy William’s After Her Divorce?

Divorce is never easy. Whether both parties want out of the marriage or one person is still trying to make it work, seperating from such an intense union has it’s challenges. Especially when your partner is involved in your career.

Talk show host Wendy Williams’ husband Kevin Hunter had a hand in all aspects of her life. He was her husband for over 20 years, he was her manager, and he helped her launch The Wendy Williams Show. For all intents and purposes, he was her life partner.

But sometimes our partners aren’t the best people for us.

Why did Williams split from Hunter?

Last week, Williams filed for divorce from Hunter. This news came among the many cheating allegations against the television producer. The most recent accusation was that Hunter had fathered a child with a massage therapist while married to Williams.

“Thank you to everyone for respecting the family’s privacy during this time,” a rep for Williams told People in a statement regarding the divorce filing. “Kevin is supportive of Wendy and they are working through this process together. No additional comment will be provided at this time.”

Is the divorce affecting Williams’ sobriety?

Recently, Williams admitted on her show that she had been living in a sober house. She relapsed last month and had to be rushed to the hospital after drinking too much.

After being released from the hospital, she checked herself back into the sober house.

“I have to tell you, you know, I’ve been dealing with issues with addiction, alcoholism, and I have a whole new life that I planned for myself and my son,” Williams said on her show Monday. “Believe me you, when you lay in a room with no TV and four gray walls all day … this is my life in the sober house, it’s one of the best things, honestly, that could have ever happened to me.”

She went on to say that she planned to make dealing with her addiction a priority.

“Addressing my sobriety, my addiction, head-on has really helped me sort out every single compartment of my life,” she continued. “I have a commitment to me and my son to come out of here better, stronger, and faster than ever. And by the way, I will still commit. … I commit that the motto of this show will always be, ‘Their business is our business.'”

What’s next for Williams?

Now that Williams is getting divorced, she wants to focus more on herself.

“I’m moving out of the sober house in just a few days, you know,” she said on the show. “It’ll be Wendy on her own.”

Unfortunately for the talk show host, her split from Hunter may not be as easy as she hoped.

The two did not sign a prenuptial agreement before getting married, so Williams stands to lose quite a bit in the divorce. The star is currently worth $60 million while Hunter is only worth $7.5 million.
