2019 Award Season Calendar: When Are the SAG Awards?

We’re officially in the thick of awards season which means that awards ceremonies like the Golden Globes, the Critics Choice Awards, the Screen Actors Guild Awards –and of course, the Oscars are in full swing. However, from our perspective, the SAG Awards doesn’t get as much love as its counterparts. The SAG Awards are given out by the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) which essentially means stars are getting recognized by their peers for their work.

Unlike the Oscars and the Golden Globes, the SAG Awards are relatively modern with the first award show debuting back in 1995. Still, the awards are considered a massive indicator of who will do well at the Academy Awards which always takes place shortly after. When are the SAG Awards and who is hosting them in 2019?

The 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will air live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019 at 8 p.m. ET. The awards take place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The SAG Awards focus on both individual and ensemble work across all genres in film and television.
