When Does ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ Season 3 Premiere?

Jersey Shore garnered millions of fans during its run between 2009 and 2012. And six years later, those who loved the cast still hadn’t forgotten about them. In 2018, a new Jersey Shore spinoff premiered: Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. It follows the cast in new homes and new places — and with plenty of new problems. And the show has just been renewed for a third season.

The cast has grown up a bit — and has more ‘grown up’ problems

In the newest spinoff, the cast’s lives are a bit different than they were back in 2012. All of the original cast members rejoined the show, with the exception of Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola. Giancola passed on the spinoff to avoid any drama that may have occurred from the show; she says she’s in a good place with her current life and boyfriend. But otherwise, the gang is back, and they all have very different problems than they did years ago. Ronnie Magro is constantly at odds with Jen Harley, the mother of his daughter. Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is battling a major tax evasion scandal during filming, and Jenni Farley is dealing with problems in her marriage. But despite dealing with some serious issues, the cast still manages to have a blast when they’re all together.

The show highlights everyone’s highs and lows

The highs and lows of adulthood are seen clearly on the show. Jenni has discussed the idea of getting a divorce. Nicole confided in Jenni that she has been having trouble having a third baby. Deena Cortese missed out on most of the show because she’s expecting her first child with husband Chris Buckner. And everyone has been there for Ronnie as he deals with the excessive drama produced by his on-again-off-again girlfriend. Mike’s tax evasion drama has also been a major part of the show. However, the cast still goes out and has plenty of fun together. Even with Angelina there, and plenty of tension between her and Vinny, everyone gets along at the end of the day.

The third season will premiere in summer 2019

Just before the second season’s finale, the show announced that a third season was in the works. Some were skeptical about the odds of a third season, since Snooki is expecting a child and Deena is almost ready to give birth. Plus, with Mike headed to jail and Ronnie dealing with plenty going on in his love life, it didn’t seem like the cast would have it all together to film a third season. However, MTV made the announcement that the newest season will premiere in summer 2019. The network has not yet said the exact premiere date.

The show has skyrocketed MTV’s ratings

MTV likely did anything it could to renew the show, since it has boosted the network’s ratings greatly since its return. According to Deadline, the show is one of the top unscripted cable series among 18-49 year olds in the United States. MTV’s ratings over the past five quarters have increased, and it’s in large part to the spinoff show. If the network knows what’s good for them, they’ll keep pumping out new episodes.
