How and When You Can Watch the Harvey Telethon With Oprah, Beyonce, and More

A telethon to raise money for Hurricane Harvey relief has just been set for next week.

“Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Harvey Relief” will take place on Tuesday, September 12 at 8 p.m. EST. It will air on ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC, but in addition, those who won’t be near a television can stream it live on Facebook.

Last week, actor Jamie Foxx announced that there would be a telethon for Hurricane Harvey relief. He said in an Instagram post that it would take place on September 12, but details had not yet been ironed out at this point. Those details were officially announced on September 5 on Good Morning America.

In addition to Jamie Foxx, some of the other celebrities who will participate in the telethon include George Clooney, Beyonce, Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, Barbra Streisand, Reese Witherspoon, George Strait, Tori Kelly, Karlie Kloss, Rob Lowe, Matthew McConaughey, Dennis Quaid, Kelly Rowland, Adam Sandler, Ryan Seacrest, Michael Strahan, and Blake Shelton, according to Variety

The telethon will be broadcast primarily from the Universal Studios lot in California but also from Times Square, the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, and the Majestic Theater in San Antonio.

“Hand in Hand” is being produced by the team behind the recent Ariana Grande benefit for the victims of the Manchester bombing in June. That event ended up raising $12 million, according to ABC News.

The Hurricane Harvey death toll is currently at 66, and the economic loss is expected to be up to $190 billion, according to the USA Today. Thousands of Texans have been displaced and many others have lost their homes.

“The recovery to this event is going to last many years to be able to help Texas and the people impacted by this event achieve a new normal,” William “Brock” Long, administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, told The Washington Post last week.
