Happy New Year, Charlie Brown airs Thursday, December 27 at 8/7c on ABC. It will be followed by She’s a Good Skate, Charlie Brown.

The 1986 holiday special features the entire Peanuts gang as they ring in the New Year. Peppermint Patty and Marcie are throwing a party, while Charlie Brown is going to spend the evening reading Tolstoy’s War and Peace. But after inviting the Little Red-Haired Girl, Charlie Brown decides to attend the party after all.

Happy New Year, Charlie Brown is the 30th Peanuts animated special and features the voices of Chad Allen as Charlie Brown, Jeremy Miller as Linus, Melissa Guzzi as Lucy, Kirstie Baker as Peppermint Patty, and Jason Mendelson as Marcie.

Can you stream Happy New Year, Charlie Brown?

If you miss the show on Thursday, you can still catch Happy New Year, Charlie Brown. While it’s not included with Netflix and Hulu subscriptions, the 24-minute special is on Amazon Prime. It’s one of a handful of Peanuts holiday specials that is available for free streaming. But if you want to watch it, you need to act fast. It’s leaving Prime on January 1, 2019.             

If you don’t have an Amazon Prime subscription, you can also purchase Happy New Year, Charlie Brown for $1.99. The individual program isn’t available on iTunes, but you can buy a collection of six Peanuts holiday classics that includes the New Year’s special along with It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and A Charlie Brown Christmas for $29.99.

Other Peanuts specials on Amazon Prime

Happy New Year, Charlie Brown isn’t the only Peanuts special that you can stream for free on Amazon.

If you’re still feeling the Christmas spirit, you can watch I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown and Charlie Brown’s Christmas Tales. Prime also has The Mayflower Voyagers, You’re the Greatest, Charlie Brown, and It’s an Adventure, Charlie Brown.

Peanuts specials on Hulu

A handful of Peanuts specials are also included with Hulu subscriptions. Currently, you can watch Snoopy, Come Home and A Boy Named Charlie Brown on the streaming service. Hulu also has It’s Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown.

Meanwhile, Apple’s new streaming service will include new Peanuts content. The tech giant has struck a deal to produce new originals featuring Charlie Brown and the gang for its streaming service that’s set to launch in 2019.

Netflix’s New Year’s Eve countdowns for kids 

Compared to Christmas, there aren’t too many New Year’s specials aimed at kids. But for parents of little ones, Netflix is here to save the day. The streaming service has 14 different New Year’s countdown videos to watch with kids of all ages. Even better, you can watch them anytime, so kids don’t have to stay up late to enjoy a little New Year’s Eve celebration. To find them, just search “countdowns” on Netflix.
