When Meryl Streep Botched Her Thanksgiving Dinner, 1 Celebrity Came to Her Rescue

Many people may think that when it comes to celebrities, they have their holiday dinners deliciously catered by professional chefs. While we can’t speak for every single Hollywood celebrity out there, we know that some like Meryl Streep and Gwyneth Paltrow prefer to do their own cooking, at least for Thanksgiving.

This is just another way that we know that so many famous people are actually just like us. Further proof that they are even more down to earth than we actually realize is that when they cook, things don’t always go exactly as planned!

Even celebrities tend to burn things, drop items, and completely mess up when they are preparing their favorite meals. When this happens, naturally, they turn to their closest friends for the help that they need in order to rectify the situation.

One of our favorite actresses actually found herself in a similar predicament. Let’s discuss the time when Meryl Streep botched her Thanksgiving dinner, and one celebrity came to her rescue.

Meryl Streep was in quite a sticky situation

Like most other people do on Thanksgiving morning, the Oscar winner was trying to prepare a meal that everyone could enjoy. Sadly, she didn’t care for the oven that she had, and after 11 hours of cooking, things took a downward spiral.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the oven didn’t cook her turkey properly, and she was left with a less than edible main dish for one of the most important meals of the entire year.

Rather than panicking, Streep did some quick thinking! She knew she had to get her dinner cooked, so she immediately got on the phone to other people in her building. While some other people in the same position might have given up and taken everyone out to a fancy restaurant, Streep was determined to do the cooking herself, even if it wasn’t in her own kitchen.

So, who was it that saved the day, and helped Streep serve her turkey like she wanted to? None other than Gwyneth Paltrow. Apparently, Paltrow lives in the same New York City building as her friend, and she has an amazing oven. Although Gwyneth Paltrow wasn’t home at the time, Streep emailed her for permission to enter the apartment and finish preparing her dinner.

Naturally, Paltrow obliged, and Streep was able to pull things off without a hitch.

Gwyneth Paltrow has some mouthwatering holiday recipes

It’s a good thing that Streep and Paltrow are close enough that they can assist each other. We can’t help but wonder if while there, Streep looked through Gwyneth Paltrow’s recipe file, considering how she has some tasty dishes that she has been known to whip up.

Paltrow, always the healthy eater, has posted some of her holiday favorites on Goop, her lifestyle website, and fans have absolutely loved them. While most people associate the holidays with food that is loaded with butter, sugar, and other high-calorie ingredients, Paltrow herself certainly doesn’t sacrifice healthy eating for flavor.

She serves side dishes such as caramelized brussels sprouts, turkey burgers, and other clean recipes that include kale and arugula salad, roasted squash with brown butter and hazelnut gremolata, and potato latke.

We have to say that even though she tends to put a healthy spin on everything that goes on her table, Paltrow’s recipes still sound incredibly indulgent.

How wonderful that she is not only an amazing cook but that she can help out a friend in need to make sure that Meryl’s Thanksgiving celebration was one to remember.
