When Will Baby Archie Visit the U.S. With Meghan Markle?
The world waited impatiently for the arrival of baby Archie as Meghan Markle’s pregnancy seemed to last well beyond the normal nine months. At long last, however, he is here and healthy.
Now the world wants to know when they will get a chance to peek at the new bundle of joy.
While an official royal tour to showcase their firstborn is scheduled, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may have their son visiting America sooner than that.
Meghan Markle wants Archie to know his American roots
Although she is now a member of the British Royal Family, Meghan Markle was born and raised as an American. Her family is from the United States, and Markle hopes that she’ll be able to share this half of Archie’s lineage with him.
A source told U.S. Weekly that Meghan believes “it’s just as important for Archie to learn about her family history as it is for him to learn about his royal ancestors.”
The same source went on to tell the magazine that Markle “plans to go on a trip to Los Angeles with him once she’s comfortable taking him on a plane.”
When can babies fly on airplanes?
There isn’t any concrete conclusion as to when babies can safely travel by airplane. The two primary concerns, of course, are that a baby’s ears are much more sensitive to pressure changes, and the dangers should an emergency situation occur while in the air.
This aside, various airlines around the world have come up with their own guidelines as to when they allow infants to fly on their planes.
Most airlines state that an infant must be at least two days old before they board a plane. Some, however, require infants to be at least two weeks old. A scant few refuse to fly infants below the age of two months.
Most major airlines will also require a doctor’s written permission before they board a newborn. As long as they are healthy and up-to-date with their vaccinations, however, a baby does not have to be very old before they take to the air.
When will baby Archie visit the U.S. with his mom?
Although even the strictest guidelines state a baby only needs to be two months old, it’s important to note that Meghan Markle is a first time mom.
Sources near the new mom have stated she will travel when she feels comfortable doing so, but it is anyone’s guess as to when that might be. It has been hinted (although unconfirmed) that this will happen before the royal tour Meghan Markle has planned with Prince Harry.
Is there really an upcoming royal tour?
Yes. Sources have confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be going on a royal tour… and yes, baby Archie will be coming along, too.
The royal tour was originally scheduled for spring of 2019, but after Markle found out she was expecting it was pushed back to accommodate the pregnancy and birth.
A royal correspondent states that the royal tour will definitely be happening this fall, and that the couple are “keen to visit the U.S. and Canada as a family.”
This, obviously, confirms that they will bringing their new son along.
As to where they will head, that part has not yet been confirmed. Sources state that the royal couple and their new bundle of joy are considering stops in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and New York.
The exact dates and locations will probably not be confirmed until at least the middle of summer as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry hammer out all of the little details.
