When Will Season 7 of ‘When Calls the Heart’ Premiere?
Season 6 of When Calls the Heart ended with a cliffhanger on June 2, as Elizabeth Thornton asked saloon owner Lucas Bouchard to dance, but then exchanged a meaningful look with new mountie Nathan Grant.
The Hallmark Channel drama definitely seems to be setting up a love triangle between the widowed Elizabeth, Nathan, and Lucas. But Hearties will have to wait a while to find out who Elizabeth ultimately chooses.
When Calls the Heart will return in 2020
When Calls the Heart is one of the most popular dramas on cable, so it’s no surprise that the Hallmark Channel has renewed the show for a seventh season. Star Erin Krakow made the announcement in April.
“I’m also thrilled to announce When Calls the Heart Season 7 coming next year. We can’t wait to get back to Hope Valley,” she said in a video.
The network hasn’t announced a specific date for the return of When Calls the Heart. But the last four seasons of the show have premiered in February, so there’s a good chance that’s when new episodes will air in 2020.
What to expect from Season 7
The love triangle between Elizabeth, Nathan, and Lucas will surely continue to play out in Season 7. But that’s not the only storyline that Hearties have to look forward to. Executive producer Alfonso Moreno told ET that the next season will revisit the budding relationship between Carson and Faith. Plus, we’ll likely see a wedding between Jesse and Clara, who got engaged in the finale.
What about the Christmas special?
Fans probably won’t have to wait until next year to return to Hope Valley, though. Every year since 2015, there’s been a When Calls the Heart Christmas special. While there’s been no announcement yet about this year’s Christmas special, the network is planning 40 all-new movies for its 2019 Countdown to Christmas, so there’s a good chance a When Calls the Heart special will be part of the lineup.
When Hope Calls premieres this summer
Hallmark has one other treat in store for Hearties. An all-new spinoff series, When Hope Calls, is set to debut this summer on Hallmark Movies Now.
When Hope Calls will tell the story of two sisters orphaned sisters, Lillian (Morgan Kohan) and Grace (Jocelyn Hudon), who reunite as adults in a small northwest town and open an orphanage. Hearties will recognize Lillian and Grace from previous episodes of When Calls the Heart. While the new show isn’t set in Hope Valley, some familiar faces will make an appearance in the series, including Rosemary (Pascale Hutton), Lee (Kavan Smith) and Nathan (Kevin McGarry).
To watch the streaming-only show, you’ll need to subscribe to Hallmark Movies Now, which costs $5.99 a month.
