When Will the Public Get To See the First Photos of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Baby Boy?

You’ve probably heard by now that the wait is over as Meghan Markle has given birth to a baby boy.

On May 6, 2019, it was confirmed that the royal baby had arrived and Prince Harry revealed that his wife and son are both “doing incredibly well.” Now that the due date and sex of the baby are no longer a mystery there is one question on the minds of royal fans everywhere: When will we get to see photos of baby Sussex?

Here’s the answer to that question, plus everything else we know so far about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first child.

Prince Harry gushes about the birth of his son

Prince Harry, who was by his Markle’s side for the birth of their first child, gushed about the new addition to his family.

“We’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support. The baby is a little bit overdue but that’s the next bit,” he shared. “Every baby is amazing but this little thing is absolutely to die for. I’m over the moon!”

The baby weighed in at 7 pounds, 3 ounces. As for a name, the prince said they are “still thinking” about that. Royals usually announce the child’s name a few days after the birth.

The duke and duchess are doing things differently

It’s no secret that the couple likes to do things their way and they are continuing that with how they will show off their little one to the public.

Unlike Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex kept their much of the birth plans private and opted not to have the baby at St. Mary’s Hospital. That means there won’t be any big reveal outside the Lindo Wing.

It was previously announced that Markle and Harry are not going to have a photocall outside of any public location following the birth. The reason for this is reportedly because the former actress “did not feel comfortable” with the idea of so many members of the press taking pictures of her and the baby so soon after the birth.

“We are not going to get the traditional photocall we have come to expect of the royals and their newborns,” explained royal photographer Tim Rooke, who works for the agency Shutterstock and covered the arrivals of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Princess Louis at the Lindo Wing.

So when will we see baby Sussex for the first time?

When we’ll see the first pictures of the royal baby

Harry and Markle’s son will be introduced to the world via a photoshoot scheduled three days from the baby’s birthdate on the grounds of Windsor Castle.

This will reportedly be done with just one photographer, one reporter, and one cameraman.

Many royal fans believe (and are hoping) that the duke and duchess will also post photos to their Instagram account.
