Where is Prince Louis? Why We Don’t See or Hear Much About the Young Royal

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children each serve up a dose of cuteness every time we see them but we don’t get to see their youngest son, Prince Louis, very often. While his older siblings steal the spotlight everywhere they go many royal fans are wondering where the newest addition of the Cambridge clan has been.
Prince Louis, who is currently fifth in line to the throne, was born on April 23, 2018, and, like Prince George and Princess Charlotte, made his debut on the front steps of St. Mary’s Hospital in London. But since then only a handful of photos of him have been released and we haven’t seen him out in public with his parents much at all.
So, where in the world is Prince Louis and why don’t we hear about him and when might we see him again?
Home photos of Prince Louis
On May 5, 2018, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released photos of Prince Louis and his sister Princess Charlotte with a message thanking fans for all the kind words they received following the prince’s birth. They also thanked everyone for the birthday wishes sent to Charlotte as the photos were posted just a few days after her third birthday.

He was not at the royal weddings
On May 19, 2018, Prince Louis’ Uncle Harry married Meghan Markle. George and Charlotte were in the wedding party and many were hoping that their little brother would make an appearance at the church as well. However, William and Middleton arrived without their youngest child and the reason for that was so the attention was not taken off the bride and groom.
“Absolutely nothing must detract from the focus on the happy couple and [that] would,” Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told The Express.
On October 12, 2018, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank tied the knot and fans were almost certain they would finally see Louis at this royal wedding. Again, he wasn’t present and we can only assume it was for the same reason he was not at Harry and Markle’s.
Up until that point, the last time anyone had seen photos of Louis was at his christening in July.
Prince Louis makes rare public appearance
Finally, in late October, a video circulated on Instagram of Prince Louis and his parents arriving by helicopter to Kensington Palace.
In the clip, Middleton can be seen exiting the chopper while holding the prince in her arms as she makes her way into her residence. William was walking alongside them and carrying his son’s baby bag.
Why we don’t hear much about the prince
The reason we don’t hear much about Louis is because of all the other news going on with the royal family.
Since he was born stories about the two royal weddings, celebrations leading up to Prince Charles’ 70th birthday, and the announcement that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their first child have dominated the news.

With all that going on the prince hasn’t really had a chance to steal headlines of his own yet but we’re sure he will in time.
As for when we’ll see him again, well, the duke and duchess usually like to share pictures of their children when they hit milestones or on special occasions. The holidays are coming up so we’re guessing we may see Louis when the family releases their 2018 Christmas card.
