Sony has just released the first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home and it looks just as exciting as Spider-Man: Homecoming. This time, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and his rag-tag group of friends are headed to Europe for their summer vacation. However, though Peter wants to have a spider-free summer where he can spend his days going to tourists sites and flirting with MJ (Zendaya) things don’t quite work out as planned.
Just as he’s getting over his jet lag, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) shows up and highjacks all of Peter’s relaxing summer plans. So what can we expect to see in Spider-Man: Far From Home, and where was the movie filmed?
Spider-Man: Far From Home is the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming
According to Sony’s official statement, “Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the next chapter of the Spider-Man™: Homecoming series! Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned (Jacob Batalon) MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!”
Marisa Tomei. Michael Keaton and Adrian Toomes, Colbie Smulders and Jake Gyllenhaal are all set to star in the film as well.
Where was Spider-Man: Far From Home filmed?
For the young, fun-loving cast of Spider-Man: Far From Home — making this web-slinger movie was a real summer vacation. The movie was shot on location in England, the Czech Republic, Venice, and New York City. When the film debuts in July, fans can expect to see some major landmarks from all of these iconic locations.
Jake Gyllenhaal will star as Mysterio
Our beloved Jake Gyllenhaal is Marvel’s latest supervillain. Since Mysterio first appeared in a 1964 issue of The Amazing Spider-Man comic — he’s been plotting to take over the world. Mysterio whose real name is Quentin Beck always wanted to be an actor, but he failed at it and was laughed out of Hollywood. However, after realizing his expertise in illusions could make him an effective supervillain –he began to plot against Spider-Man.
Unlike many of Marvel’s supervillains, Mysterio doesn’t actually have any superhuman abilities. However, he is an expert designer of special effects devices and stage illusions, a master hypnotist, magician, and an amateur chemist and robotics.
Peter Parker and the fam will return in Spider-Man: Far From Home on July 5, 2019.
