Which Duggar Kid Has the Best Name in the Family?

The Duggar family is one of America’s most popular reality show families. Even though their strict Baptist faith has caused controversy from time to time, the genuine love that the family has for each other has consistently kept fans engaged since the initial premiere of their TV show, 19 Kids and Counting, in 2008.

One of the things fans love about the Duggars is their habit of choosing unique names for their children. Recently, fans collaborated to vote on their all-time favorite Duggar family names.

Which Duggars had the worst names?

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar got married in 1984 and started their family right away. They choose to not practice any form of birth control and believe that they will ultimately have as many children as God will bless them with.

This ultimately led to the couple welcoming 19 children over the years, with many of them now fully grown, with families of their own.

Even though the Duggars undoubtedly love their children, fans don’t love all of their names. A recent Ranker poll listed Spurgeon Elliot Seewald, Jessa Duggar’s son with Ben Seewald, as being one of the worst Duggar family names.

Deanna Duggar Jordan, Jim Bob Duggar’s sister, Jedidiah Robert Duggar, and Jim Bob Duggar himself also made the list as the least-popular family names.

Also making the list of favorites is Johannah Faith Duggar, Josie Brooklyn Duggar, and Jinger (pronounced “Ginger”) Nicole Duggar.

How do they choose names?

One of the questions that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar get asked the most is how they chose names for their giant brood of children. While some of the children have biblically-inspired names, not all of them do. One thing all nineteen siblings have in common is the fact that their names all begin with the letter “J.”

In an interview, Michelle Duggar explained that they named their first three children after different names that they loved from the Bible. Once they started that precedent, they didn’t want to stop naming their children “J” names, for fear that those children might feel left out. So it became a family tradition.

Despite all the siblings having a first name that starts with the letter “J,” they each have unique middle names, some with hyphenation. This is a way to signify individuality among the children and allow the parents a bit of creative license.

As the Duggar siblings have grown up and started families of their own, they have definitely chosen to stray away from the “J” tradition that their parents established. Some of the names that they have chosen for their children are unique indeed, like in the case of baby Spurgeon Elliot, Jessa Duggar’s son.

While some fans might not love all the Duggar family names, it’s unlikely that the family minds all that much. In spite of the common stereotype that the family lives a modest lifestyle, the Duggars are actually quite wealthy. In fact, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are worth around $3.5 million, with Jim Bob Duggar having served in the Arkansas House of Representatives, and more recently, working as a real estate investor.

Each of the Duggar siblings is worth varying amounts, from $200,000 to around $2 million. There’s little doubt that the famous family is definitely living the good life – unusual name or not!
