Which Original Cast Members Are Returning for the ‘Veronica Mars’ Revival?
Guys! Veronica Mars’ return is right around the corner!
After rallying and a successful Kickstarter campaign, Marshmallows (the adorable nickname for Veronica Mars fans) have finally pushed the producers to bring the beloved private investigator back for an encore.
With the noir mystery drama’s return coming up fans can’t help but wonder which of their favorite cast members will be coming back.
Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars
Veronica Mars wouldn’t be Veronica Mars without its heroine at the helm! While marshmallows might be most excited at seeing their favorite P.I back at it, it’s the other cast members that are garnering more attention. After all, once fans found out that the show was coming back, they knew they would be able to catch Kristen Bell on screen.
Fans of Bell have been able to get their fix thanks to another fantastic show, The Good Place. While the NBC series is a top-notch comical experience, it’s not the one that Mars fans want. Thankfully she’ll be reprising her role in a couple of months.
Enrico Colantoni as Keith Mars
Veronica’s dear old dad, Keith Mars, will also be making an appearance in the revival. The beloved father figure didn’t go off the radar when Veronica Mars ended.
Colantoni was in several series after the show went off the air in 2007. He was a regular on ZOS: Zones of Separation, Flashpoint, Play It Again, Dick (a spin-off of Veronica Mars), Remedy, Person of Interest, Bad Blood, and Adversity.
Percy Daggs III as Wallace Fennel
Veronica Mars’ bestie Wallace Fennel is coming back! Could you even imagine the show without Fennel by Mars’ side?
Percy Daggs III, the man behind Fennel, hasn’t said much about the revival but he is undoubtedly excited to be back by his homie’s side.
If fans recall, Daggs III character wasn’t around as much in season three. In fact, many characters weren’t. The budget was super thin, so many ensemble cast members had their parts cut.
Francis Capra as Eli “Weevil” Navarro
Former biker gang member Eli “Weevil” Navarro will be there. Bad boy Weevil is played by Francis Capra. If you ever wondered why Capra does such a great job at nailing the role, it’s because he was raised in the boogie-down Bronx!
Robert De Niro and Chazz Palminteri discovered Capra when they were scouting cast for the 1993 film, A Bronx Tale.
Weevil was just 10 years old at the time, but the stroke of good luck enabled him to move to L.A with his family. Well, most of it. His father was in jail for most of his childhood. Being exposed to such things at a young age really opened his eyes to the darker parts of society.
Ryan Hansen as Dick Casablancas
Ryan Hansen plays Dick Casablancas; the rich bully turned frat boy. Hansen has been biding his time with movie and show appearances. Like some of his counterparts, he also took advantage of the spin-off to have a reunion with his Veronica Mars buddies.
Considering he made an appearance in the Kickstarter movie and the spin-off, it’s safe to say he is definitely looking forward to the revival!
He was a mainstay in the original show, sticking it out with 54 of the 64 episodes. Perhaps he will be one of the first characters fans will catch in the revival?
Jason Dohring as Logan Echolls
Logan Echolls is Mars’ recurring love interest who graduated from being a frenemy. What would the reboot be without a little love story tied in? Especially since the kids from the original show are now full-fledged adults?
Dohring doesn’t have too many acting credits to his name, but he’s certainly made the best of his time since Veronica Mars got cut. He appeared in the spin-off with some of cast member buddies and even made showed up in Marvel’s Agent Carter.
Ken Marino as Vinnie Van Lowe
Things just wouldn’t be the same without a rival P.I. on the loose. Enter Ken Marino’s, Vinnie Van Lowe. Van Lowe appeared in ten episodes between 2005 and 2007, many of which happened towards the end of the run.
Considering Van Lowe barely had a chance to get settled before the show went off the air, fans can look forward to what will hopefully be a more significant part for Mars’ “nemesis.”
