Who Are the Highest-Paid TV Actors in the World and How Much They’re Making a Year
When it comes to the highest-paid actors on the small screen, four stars from one show were in the top five.
Forbes released its annual list and the men from The Big Bang Theory are still leading the pack with how much they are making. This was even after they took a pay cut to ensure a salary boost for female cast members, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch.
For the fourth year in a row, Jim Parsons has topped the list with a whopping $26.5 million. The actor made headlines in August 2018 when it was revealed that he turned down $50 million to play Dr. Sheldon Cooper for two more seasons. TBBT will end in 2019 but the cast will still see some decent residual checks from reruns.
Parsons’ castmate, Johnny Galecki, took the No. 2 spot on the list with $25 million while their co-stars Kunal Nayyer and Simon Helberg were tied next with $23.5 million apiece.
All figures are pretax and were calculated from June 1, 2017, through June 1, 2018.
It should come as no surprise that the stars of the CBS sitcom topped the list but if you’re wondering why Kaley Cuoco isn’t on there that’s because this list is male only. Cuoco was No.4 on the 2017 women’s list earning an impressive $26 million from June 1, 2016, to June 1, 2017, and you can expect to see her name again among the highest-paid actresses when Forbes releases that ranking.
But for now, it’s all about the men so here are some of the other actors who made the list and how much they’re pulling down.
After Parsons, Galecki, Nayyer, and Helberg comes another actor from a hit CBS show. NCIS star Mark Harmon landed at N0. 5 raking in $19 million. And, just like the gang from The Big Bang Theory did, the 67-year-old also negotiated a deal to include a percentage of the show’s profits.
Modern Family star Ed O’Neill was No. 6 on the list. At 72, the actor is still one of the best-compensated in the business with $14 million. Three of O’Neill’s co-stars came in right behind him. Eric Stonestreet was No. 7 earning $13.5 million followed by Jesse Tyler Ferguson with 13.5 million and Ty Burrell at No. 9 with $12 million.
Rounding out the top 10 and new on the list in 2018 is The Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln, who earned $11 million, for his final season on the AMC zombie drama. Forbes noted that fellow Walking Dead star Norman Reedus received a raise and will likely replace Lincoln on the 2019 list.
Someone who was on last year’s list but did not make the cut this time around is former House of Cards star Kevin Spacey. The disgraced actor is currently under investigation for sexual assault.
While all of these figures are hefty amounts of money they aren’t much compared to what the highest-paid movie actors bring home. That list, released in August, showed that actor George Clooney was No. 1 and made an eye-popping $239 million.
