Who Did Jennifer Lawrence Date Before She Got Engaged?
Wedding bells are ringing for Jennifer Lawrence. News broke this week that the actress is now engaged to her new boyfriend Cooke Maroney.
Lawrence was spotted wearing an engagement ring while out at dinner at Raoul’s in NYC earlier this week, according to Page 6.
“It was a giant rock,” a source told the outlet. “They seemed like they were celebrating and people were talking about it. The ring was very noticeable. They were sitting back in a corner. She was wearing a cute black dress with white polka dots.”
The two have been publicly dating since June.
While the couple prepares for their upcoming nuptials, let’s take a walk down memory lane through all of Lawrence’s past relationships and heartbreaks.
Nicholas Hoult
If there is one thing that holds true in Lawrence’s relationships, it’s that she’s not afraid to get together with her costars.
One of her earliest public relationships was in 2010 with British actor Nicholas Hoult. The two met while filming the 2010 movie X-Men: First Class. The couple dated for 3 years before taking a break in 2013. When they began filming X-Men: Days of Future Past, they were able to rekindle their relationship. Eventually, they decided to go their separate ways in August of 2014.
Chris Martin
Some say the best cure for a broken heart is to find someone else. The jury is still out on whether that actually works or not, but singer Chris Martin and Lawrence certainly did try.
After splitting from his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, the Coldplay member and Lawrence began dating in August of 2014. This was just months after her split from Hoult.
The two dated for five months before breaking up briefly in October.
In December, they rekindled their flame and got back together, attending a number of public events together.
This time, they were able to stay together for a few months before finally ending things in August of 2015.
“Chris doesn’t really want the relationship to end, but he needs to be flexible so he can see his family as much as possible with his own work schedule,” a source closed to Martin told PEOPLE. “He’s crazy about Jen but wants to keep his own schedule and be able to do what he wants when he wants to do it.”
Darren Aronofsky
After ending things with Martin, Lawrence took a little break from publicly dating. That
While dating, Lawrence became defensive of Aronofsky and their work together.
“I finally was just like, ‘It’s not healthy, neither of us are doing it’ because if I read it, I start getting defensive,” she told Harper’s Bazaar of reading bad reviews of the film. ” Especially because it’s my man.”
Sources aren’t sure if the two began dating in private during filming, but they went public with their relationship at the premiere of the film in New York. The couple seemed happy together for a while, even though there was a healthy 22 year age gap in between them.
The two split after over a year of dating in November of 2017.
