Before Kidman became well known to American film audiences as the leggy redheaded actress with a mane of curly hair, she was a struggling performer in Australian cinema.
While she was still working hard to score her big break in America, she met actor Tom Cruise, who at the time of their first meeting in 1989, was a huge star. The pair hit it off quickly and were married the following year.
Their marriage was hugely popular with the American press, and there’s little doubt that her partnership with Cruise helped to further her movie career. They co-starred in several films together, including Days of Thunder, Far and Away, and Eyes Wide Shut.
Kidman and Cruise adopted two children together, and it seemed as though all was quite well within their marriage. However, by 2001, they separated, citing irreconcilable differences.

She was reportedly involved with singer Robbie Williams and businessman Steve Bing before establishing a more serious relationship with Lenny Kravitz, Lisa Bonet’s ex-husband.
She and Kravitz dated from 2003 to 2004 and reportedly ended their fling on an amicable note. There were also some rumors that she was mildly interested in talk show host Jimmy Fallon, but a relationship never quite evolved.

Of course, Kidman’s most famous romance after Tom Cruise is undoubtedly her current husband, Keith Urban. They met in 2005 at an event in Los Angeles, and apparently, the two experienced instant chemistry.
Kidman opened up in a January 2019 interview and gushed about the first time she knew Urban was the one, admitting that he showed up on her doorstep at 5 a.m. with a bouquet of flowers in honor of her 38th birthday. She knew then that they would end up getting married.
The loving couple didn’t wait long to seal the deal – they got married in June 2005, in their home country of Australia. Since then, it’s been nothing but sunshine and rainbows for the country crooner and the A-list actress. They welcomed two daughters, Sunday Rose, and Faith Margaret, and have supported each other through numerous obstacles, including Urban’s battle with alcohol addiction and the passing of Kidman’s father, with whom she shared a close relationship, in 2014.
