Who Does Halloween Better: Heidi Klum or Katy Perry?
Two celebrities rule Halloween each year: Heidi Klum and Katy Perry. Although the two entertainers might not seem to be perfect fits for the spookiest day of the year, they both craft memorable costumes each Halloween season. While each of them has earned the spotlight for their costumes, which of them does Halloween better?
Halloween, Heidi Klum Style
Heidi Klum has been a master of the Halloween costume since before Katy Perry released any music. Her love affair with the Halloween costume began in the year 2000. She dressed like a dominatrix. The black outfit was certainly memorable, but Heidi Klum wouldn’t be remembered for her great Halloween costumes if that was her only one.
The following year, she stepped things up with an elaborate Lady Godiva outfit. Not only did she wear a nude illusion covered in sparkles. She also tried to stay true to the legend of Lady Godiva by riding around on her own horse. Heidi Klum has worn many great Halloween costumes since then, but how many other Halloween costumes involving an actual horse? Her Lady Godiva outfit was one for the history books.
Since then, she has worn several Halloween costumes that were very creative. She was once the forbidden fruit from the Garden of Eden, the goddess Kali, and a dissected corpse. Sometimes, she has opted for more obvious costume choices, but even her obvious costume choices are impeccably crafted. Like many other people, she has dressed as a vampire, a witch, a cat, and an ape, but you’d be hard-pressed to find better versions of those costumes than Klum’s. If there’s one main reason why people love Heidi Klum’s outfit so much, it’s because they’re wonderfully executed.
Katy Perry’s Halloween Costumes
On to Katy Perry. Since Perry has been in the spotlight for a much shorter time than Klum, there are less Perry costumes to discuss. That doesn’t mean that Perry’s outfits aren’t memorable. She once dressed as a Flaming Hot Cheeto. That costume choice is so simple yet so complex that the entire internet fell in love with it. The singer also took the term “mic drop” to a new level when she dressed as a microphone and delighted her followers by posting a video of herself falling over.
To playfully and respectfully pay homage to the band Queen, Perry once dressed as Freddie Mercury for Halloween. Rami Malek might have won an Oscar for his impersonation of Mercury, but Perry’s certainly deserve some love. On other Halloweens, Katy Perry has dressed up as an egg, a vampire, and Jane Lane from the hit 1990s sitcom Daria.
Both Heidi Klum’s Halloween costumes and Katy Perry’s Halloween costumes are sources of joy for people across the world. However, Heidi Klum’s seem to be a touch more iconic. Hers tend to be more elaborate and creative. As previously stated, Katy Perry is relatively new to the art of Halloween costumes, so there’s a decent chance that she will be able to outshine Heidi Klum in the coming years.
