Who is Katherine Schwarzenegger? All the Details on Chris Pratt’s New Love Interest
Fans were distraught when Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt split with his wife, Anna Faris, and curious when he was spotted locking lips with the Terminator’s daughter.
While Pratt isn’t one to flash his relationships around (or return comment on them, for that matter) he’s been spotted more and more frequently with Katherine Schwarzenegger, the eldest daughter of former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. But past her namesake and her ties to a huge movie star, Katherine has a huge presence herself on the online community and her followers.
She’s an author
Schwarzenegger wrote her first book, Rock What You’ve Got: Secrets to Loving Your Inner and Outer Beauty from Someone Who’s Been There and Back at age 20. At the time she was a student at the University of Southern California where she graduated with a degree in communications. She disclosed her body image issues in the book as well as how she overcame them.
“It was the first time I was aware of my body and compared what I looked like to what other girls looked like,” she told USA Today of her fourth grade experience, “It freaked me out.” Her body concerns lasted through middle school and inspired her to write Rock What You’ve Got while in college.
“I want to let girls know they are not alone with the changes and doubts about their body,” she said.
Schwarzenegger’s writing career didn’t end there. After graduating from college in 2012 and focusing on her future, she sought career advice from a variety of athletes, singers, entrepreneurs, and actors and created her second book from it. She released I Just Graduated . . . Now What? in 2014 as a self-titled “survival guide” for recent college graduates like herself.
Schwarzenegger wrote Maverick and Me, a children’s book, in 2017. She told her personal story of rescuing and adopting her dog Maverick in the hopes it’d encourage more families to adopt and rescue their pets.
She’s a blogger
Schwarzenegger has her own lifestyle blog that advocates “lifestyle on your terms.” She focuses on topics like animals, home decor, style, health, and a recurring post called “Real Women Doing Real Things.”
Through “Real Women Doing Real Things,” Schwarzenegger shares female-founded businesses and causes she supports. “Through my reporting, speaking, writing, and community service, I believe I can make a difference. People my age have an important role to play across the board in our society and I want to use my voice for positive change,” Schwarzenegger writes on her blog.
She’s an ASPCA advocate
Schwarzenegger’s children’s’ book detailed what she called a “foster fail,” or her experience attempting to foster a dog that she ended up adopting. She’s a huge advocate of “adopt don’t shop” and hoped her book would educate and empower young readers to rescue their pets.
“Adopting a puppy or dog is an incredible opportunity that kids don’t know much about,” she said. “This book celebrates adoption and introduces the concept to kids so that when they get their first dog, they choose to adopt and not shop.”
It’s confirmed she’s dating Pratt
Rumors arose that the two began dating after paparazzi spotted them on a picnic in June 2018. Pratt and ex-wife Anna Faris legally separated in September 2017 and Pratt filed for divorce last December. Schwarzenegger and Pratt kept their romance under wraps until a recent church date.
A source told Entertainment Tonight that the couple “went from casually dating to spending much more time together. Chris and Katherine have introduced one another to their family and friends, and have been almost inseparable when they are free.” Schwarzenegger met Pratt and Faris’s 5-year-old son, Jack, on the Sunday church date. She and Pratt were caught kissing on camera as well, confirming rumors of their relationship.
“That was a big step for Chris,” the source said. “Until he knew it was more than just casual, he wasn’t introducing Jack to anyone. Chris and Katherine are very happy together.”
