Who Is the Woman Suing Kevin Hart for $60 Million Over a Sex Tape?
Kevin Hart can’t seem to catch a break. Just as he was recovering from the car accident that left him severely injured, news broke that he was being sued for $60 million in connection with a sex tape that was recorded in 2017 in Las Vegas.
What is Kevin Hart being sued for?
According to court documents obtained by People, Montia Sabbag is suing Hart for intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, and invasion of privacy.
If you don’t remember what happened back in 2017, here’s a little refresher.
Hart shared a video on his Instagram where he claimed that he was being extorted and that someone was threatening to share the sex tape involving him and Sabbag if he didn’t pay up.
Though Jonathan Todd Jackson, a former friend of Hart’s, was charged with extortion, he has never admitted to blackmailing the comedian.
Sabbag is claiming that Hart knew that a video was being created and recorded her without her knowledge.
Though the incident ultimately reflected poorly on Hart, who is married, Sabbag claims that the recording was made to “promote [Hart’s] Irresponsible Tour, which was a record-breaking comedy and to increase his overall pop culture status,” according to the outlet.
What happened to Hart after the video came out?
If the video was truly part of some plot by Hart to promote his comedy then it could not have come at a worse moment. His wife, Eniko Hart, was pregnant at the time, which made him look even worse in the public eye.
“I’m guilty [of infidelity], regardless of how it happened and what was involved, the s– that I can’t talk about, I’m guilty. I’m wrong,” Hart said in an interview with The Breakfast Club after everything came out. “It’s beyond irresponsible. There’s no way around it. That’s Kevin Hart in his dumbest moment. That’s not the finest hour of my life. With that being said, you make your bed you lay in it.”
Who is Montia Sabbag?
Montia Sabbag began making headlines after the video with Hart became public knowledge. Before she got to know Hart, Sabbag was an actress and model.
She has now hired famous lawyer Lisa Bloom to help her with the case.
“Someone apparently snuck cameras into Kevin Hart’s private hotel suite in Las Vegas and recorded bedroom images of the two of them,” Bloom said in a press conference with Sabbag when the situation came to light. “It is a crime to secretly put a camera in a private place like a hotel room.”
At the time, Sabbag claimed that she was not looking for money from Hart, but instead was seeking legal repercussions for the person who recorded the video.
What does Hart have to say back to these allegations?
Hart was recently involved in a serious car accident. His friend Jared Black was driving the comedian’s 1970 Plymouth Barracuda when he lost control and the vehicle rolled down an embankment.
Hart was taken to a hospital for his back injuries. After undergoing surgery, he was discharged from the hospital last week.
Hart has since been recovering from the accident in a rehabilitation center and has yet to respond to the allegations made by Sabbag.
