With a long list of performers ready to take the stage, the 2019 Billboard Music Awards is definitely going to be a showstopper.

Taylor Swift is opening the show

To open an award show as big as the Billboard Music Awards, the artist has to be someone who can get the crowd on their feet as soon as they walk out on stage.

Taylor Swift has that effect on audience members, which is why she is set to open this year’s show.

The singer is currently on everyone’s radar seeing as though she just released her brand new single “ME!” with Panic! At the Disco’s Brendon Urie earlier this week.

This will be the first time Swift and Urie will be performing her technicolor pop explosion single “ME!” in front of a live audience.

Since the song was an instant hit on YouTube, it is expected to be the talk of the night during the Billboard Music Awards.

Everyone’s favorite 80’s queens are taking the stage

The Billboard Music Awards always features the year’s hottest musical acts and creates buzz with their celebrity performances alone.

Though many chart topping artists of today are set to dominate the stage, the Billboard Awards are known for featuring a few blasts from the past.

This year’s Throwback moment is set to feature Paula Abdul, who has dominated the Billboard charts throughout the late 80s and early 90s.

The  singer, dancer, and choreographer will hit the “2019 Billboard Music Awards” stage to perform a medley of her biggest record-breaking hits such as “Straight Up,” “Opposites Attract,” “Cold Hearted,” “Forever Your Girl,” and the dance anthem “Vibeology.”

This will be the first time Paula Abdul is performing on an award show since she opened the 1990 American Music Awards with her eye-catching rendition of her 1988 single  “(It’s Just) The Way That You Love Me.”

Another 80s legend who is set to take the Billboard stage is none other than the icon herself, Madonna.

The singer is set to perform alongside Latin superstar Maluma for the worldwide television premiere of their brand-new single “Medellín”.

This will be the first time Madonna is performing at the Billboard Music Awards since 2016 when she performed a tribute to fellow music legend Prince.

Mariah Carey is accepting the night’s highest honor

One performer fans are excited to see take the stage is record-breaking singer, songwriter Mariah Carey.

Carey is set to take the stage to accept the ICON Award and perform a medley of her hit songs that have helped her rule the Billboard charts over the course of her career.

The biggest names in music today will dominate the stage

The 2019 Billboard Music Awards is going to be a star-studded affair with performances by the industry’s top artists to date.

Those set to take the stage are Halsey, BTS, Tori Kelly, Khalid, Shawn Mendes, Lauren Daigle, and the show’s very own host, Kelly Clarkson.

The Jonas Brothers will also take the stage and perform their hit song “Sucker.”

Sam Smith & Normani were set to perform their hit song “Dancing with a Stranger” at this year’s show, but the duo just recently decided backed out.
