Who Will Be the Next ‘Bachelorette?’
As season 23 of The Bachelor is winding down, it’s only natural for fans to start to wonder who the next Bachelorette will be. Will it be someone from Colton Underwood’s season? Or will the producers just throw away this whole batch of girls and pull from previous seasons?
Bachelor alum and former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay weighed in on the subject in favor of the latter.
“I don’t think it should be anybody from this season,” she told Us Weekly. “There’s just so much cattiness going on. You don’t know who to believe, you don’t know what’s true. I don’t trust any of them.”
She went on to say how it’s weird that there has still been so much drama as the cast has dwindled down.
“She said this, she said
Instead of the girls from the current season, Lindsay thinks that either Kristina Schulman or Danielle Maltby from Nick Viall’s season would be great candidates for the show since she believes they are truly looking for love.
Who will be the next Bachelorette?
As far as ABC’s decision on who will get the chance to date twenty something men, it has not been made yet.
“It really is an ongoing debate,” host Chris Harrison said to E! News at the Women Tell All. “As much as it’s raging on social media, that’s the same thing that’s going on behind the scenes with us.”
Producers usually wait until a season plays all the way out before they decide on who the next lead will be.
“It really is a fluid situation because it will ebb and flow depending on what we see in what situation,” Harrison continued.
How the audience reacts to the winner and the runners up will have a role in who is chosen.
“Obviously, how this plays out the next couple weeks will have a big say in this, too.”
Underwood thinks that several women on his season would be great for the job.
“There are multiple women that it would be great for,” Colton said to E! News, “and I would want to see every single woman on my season be the happiest and be in a relationship and be engaged and be married and be happy.”
The Bachelor’s production team has been known to make some last minute swaps when it comes to leads. After Ben Higgins’ season, Caila Quinn was so close to being the Bachelorette that producers even began filming in her hometown.
At the last minute, the producers changed their minds and made JoJo Fletcher the lead.
“It was nothing against Caila, but JoJo’s storyline was just so compelling,” a source told E! News at the time. “After seeing how she fell in love with Ben and then had her heart broken, there was no doubt that everyone’s going to be rooting for her as Bachelorette.”
And after Arie Luyendyk’s season, the final decision on the role couldn’t be made until he publicly broke up with Becca Kufrin for his runner up, Lauren Burnham.
So Bachelor Nation, it looks like we will have to wait a few more weeks to know for sure who will be giving out the rose pins next season.
