The singer was asked who she would trade places with, living or dead. According to Billboard, she said “Somebody with a really good voice. Ariana Grande’s voice is f*cking crazy. Can you imagine opening your mouth and that comes out? Holy f*ck!”

Eilish praised Grande’s resilience. According to iHeart Radio, Eilish said “Ariana is a f*cking king! Like a king,” she declared. “She is just so… God, man, and the s**t that she’s been through. I don’t know if I have respect for anyone like I have for her, honestly”

She said “Ariana deserves a lot, especially because she did all of that while she was having the worst year of her life, and that’s very impressive to me.” Eilish was clearly referring to the tragedies that Grande has suffered through, such as the Manchester bombing, the death of her former boyfriend, Mac Miller, and the end of her relationship with Pete Davidson.

Eilish continued “To even pick up a microphone and go on stage after some sh*t that she’s been through, is unreal to me.” She further praised two of Grande’s most beloved albums – Sweetener and Thank U, Next. She added “the fact that she’s made two albums in that amount of time is shocking and they’re both good – that’s insane.”

Eilish has only been making music for two years, whereas Grande is a show business veteran. Eilish respects Grande’s professionalism. “You can just tell she knows what the f*ck she’s doing, and even if she doesn’t realize it, she knows what the f*ck she’s doing.” She added “And it’s really impressive. She just deals with it so well. It’s so impressive.”

Billboard reports the respect between the two singers is mutual. When Grande heard about Eilish’s praise for her, she posted the story to Twitter along with the caption “my sweet baby.” Earlier this year, when Eilish won Billboard’s Woman of the Year Award, Grande posted the story to her Instagram with an accompanying heart emoji. Grande won the award the previous year and was happy for Eilish.

Eilish revealed she texts Grande on a regular basis. Because the two artists admire each other so much, many fans are hoping they will collaborate. A duet between Eilish and Grande would certainly be interesting, as Eilish’s music is a lot darker and more experimental than Grande’s mix of pop and R&B. A song written by the two would have the potential to break musical ground and become a major hit.
