Why ‘Blue Bloods’ Fans Think Another Reagan Might Stop Going to Family Dinners

The Reagans have family dinner together in every episode of Blue Bloods. So it’s a big deal if anything changes with them.

It looks like there will be another change in season 10. Here is why fans think another Reagan will stop coming to dinner and more.

The members at family dinners on ‘Blue Bloods’ has changed

There were a few big events that changed the seating at the Reagan dinner table. One was that Danny (Donny Wahlberg)’s wife, Linda (Amy Carlson) was murdered. The family had to adjust and help him with his grief.

The kids are also getting older. Danny’s oldest son, Jack (Tony Terraciano) went away to college. We don’t really see him at the dinner table because of this.

The good news is that there has been an addition to the family with Eddie (Vanessa Ray) getting married to Jamie (Will Estes.) She started eating with the family once they got engaged.

It feels like the family has adjusted to these changes. They still have their conversations sharing their different points of view. Sometimes that leads to touching moments and other times things get awkward. Now it’s possible there will be another big change.

Nicky announced that she applied for a job far away

There was a shocking announcement during family dinner in the episode, “Behind the Smile.”

“I am flying to San Franscio tomorrow for a job interview,” said Nicky (Sami Gayle.) She dove more into the job when Henry (Len Cariou) mentioned there are plenty of jobs in New York.

“Not this one. I mean they’re flying me there, paying for my hotel,” she said. The student said the job helps identify people for localized socially responsible investments like minority start-ups and green initiatives in economically challenged urban areas. There is a mysterious billionaire funding all of this.

“Don’t stay away too long,” Danny told her. “Danny’s right. Keep this close to you,” said Frank (Tom Selleck.)

The grandfather also gave her some advice for when she’s stuck. “You take that out and you think hard about what the advice would be,” he said. “Where the sympathies would lie if you were talking it out with us at this table.”

Some fans think this means Nicky will be leaving

Nicky’s family didn’t seem thrilled about the thought of her moving far away in the episode. Fans are also not happy with this announcement.

“Now Nicki is leaving?” one fan tweeted after the episode. “San Fran? @SamiGayle. Say it isn’t so,” another fan tweeted. Someone else replied, “I know, Sunday dinners wouldn’t be the same without Nicky.”

Blue Bloods is filmed in New York City and Gayle posted a picture in Central Park on Instagram with the caption, “And we lived happily ever after… #centralpark #nyc #art.” She hasn’t said anything about her future in the show yet.

It’s possible that Nicky won’t get the job and she’ll stay in city. However, it looks like a lot of fans are preparing themselves for her to leave with how the characters were talking.

Does this mean the Reagan family table will get smaller as the kids continue to get older? Only time will tell, but it looks like we might lose another Reagan soon.
