Why ‘Counting On’ Fans Think Jinger Duggar Is Going to Move Far Away From Her Siblings
We’ve watched many of the Duggar kids, who first attained fame through TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting, grow up over the years and start families of their own. It all began with Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, an ultra-religious duo who chronicled the lives of even their littlest family members for years. And though 19 Kids is long over, we’re still keeping up with many of the Duggars via TLC’s Counting On.
Nowadays, we know that Jinger Duggar is married to her husband, Jeremy — and they even have a little girl. Fans seem to think she won’t be sticking around south, however — and she may even travel all the way across the U.S. Here’s why her followers suspect she’ll be moving in the future.
Jinger’s mentioned her desire to move to a large city in the past
Jinger has always been known as one of the more rebellious members of the family. OK! Magazine notes she gave her now-husband, Jeremy, a full-frontal hug when they first got engaged, which is a huge no-no in the Duggar family. Not only that, but there was also suspicion that she was using birth control when she was first married — and her outfits as of late are definitely not Jim Bob and Michelle-approved.
There’s also her desire to break free from the confines of Arkansas, which completely differs from what the rest of her family members want. Radar Online notes long ago, Jinger mentioned to her mother that she wanted to move to a big city, like New York City. But Michelle shut the idea down immediately, as she told the publication, “She meant that she wants to live closer to a city. We’re talking right near a city, but not New York City. Jinger meant she wanted to live 15 minutes from Walmart. New York City is way above what we would ever consider a city where she should move.”
She’s already moved out of Arkansas to raise her family in Texas
Jinger has already proven she’s not afraid to leave behind the others in her family, as she’s already made one huge move from Arkansas to Texas with Jeremy. People notes in 2018, the couple bought a home in Laredo, Texas, and she even invited over all of her family members to help her decorate it. She moved when she was pregnant and also noted that she would be giving birth in a hospital in San Antonio.
Redditors seemed to think Jinger may get homesick being all the way in Texas, though, Romper notes. As one commenter said, “I think she will probably start to miss her family more, especially for the free or group babysitting.” And another user wrote, “Also, I can’t see her wanting to stay in Laredo for long because she likes bigger cities.” But one last user seemed to think Jeremy and Jinger were thriving in Texas, as they said, “I think she doesn’t mind the distance and it’s so easy to stay in touch now.” So far, it seems the duo are still in the Lone Star State and haven’t made any plans to head back toward Arkansas yet, despite public opinion.
Jeremy was accepted into a school based out of Los Angeles
While some fans seem to think Jinger will head back toward her family’s home base, many others suspect she and Jeremy may be planning a bigger move to Los Angeles. In May 2018, OK! Magazine reported that Jeremy was accepted into a bible college based out of L.A. “I am so grateful to the Lord, as well as to Pastor John MacArthur and @revaustintduncan, for giving me the incredible opportunity to begin theological and pastoral studies at @mastersseminary,” Jeremy’s Instagram post said. And though he didn’t directly mention that he and Jinger would be moving anytime soon, it’s important to note that one of the photos in the Instagram series showed the Master’s Seminary L.A. campus.
Now that Jeremy and Jinger have gone through the birth of their daughter, it may be the perfect time for Jeremy to pursue his dreams. Will the family uproot anytime soon? We’ll have to wait and see.
