I don’t even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say. I will not be performing my new show Domination. I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart. However, it’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make. A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him. I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time. I hope you all can understand. More information on ticket refunds is available on britneyspears.com. I appreciate your prayers and support for my family during this time. Thank you, and love you all… always.

Spears’ father, Jamie Spears became seriously ill after his colon spontaneously ruptured, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He was rushed into surgery at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas and was hospitalized for 28 days. His recovery was extensive but is anticipated to make a full recovery.

She adds that while her father will recover he isn’t out of the woods. “However, it’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make,” Spears continued in her Instagram post. “A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. Spears announced her Dominion tour in October, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “I am so happy to be returning to my second home — Las Vegas!” Spears said. “I’m working on a brand new show and I’m so excited for my fans to see it! And while fans were undoubtedly disappointed most were understanding. “Family is the most important. Prayers for your dad. He was there for you in your time of need,” one person responded to her Instagram post. “Hopefully everyone understands you need to be there for him in his.” Another person commented, “I love you Brit. Please take care of your dad. We all should understand. I wish Jaime a full recovery.”
