Why Fans Are Calling Out Tamar Braxton
Tamar Braxton is known as much for her talent as she is for her big personality. Along with her spunky personality is a level of outspokenness that often gets the youngest Braxton in trouble. She’s been in social media wars time and time again for speaking before she thinks and fans are normally quick to forgive. The latest Instagram post from the star has gotten her in trouble once more but for something more serious. Fans are accusing the reality star of being homophobic.
Tamar Braxton posts about LGBT men on her social media
Braxton has always maintained that she is an LGBT+ ally but a recent Instagram post has fans questioning her stance. In a since-deleted post, Braxton sent what she called a warning to her fans who are with men who don’t appear to be interested in being intimate with them.
“The truth is ladies that these dudes out here really do be gay,” she wrote. “It ain’t enough money, beauty, hair, babies in the world to keep them!! They want D—!! Periodt!!”
She continued by saying that if a man doesn’t initiate contact “3,4, 10 days,” then a woman may not be what he wants.
Fans accuse Tamar Braxton of homophobia
Fans were not happy with Braxton’s post and called her out in social media. Many questioned her allegiance to the LGBT+ community by posting such.
“It’s time to cancel @TamarBraxtonHer this chick have officially lost it,” one tweeted with a series of hashtags that included #homofobia and #cancletamar.
“Women like Tamar have a habit of resorting to homophobia and misandry to mask their miserable ass life and it’s just tiring at this point,” another chimed in.
Others responded to the singer’s post, saying they are sick of the social media antics she’s become famous for.
“I seriously wish #TamarBraxton would just sing and not talk…..,” one commented.
“I see Tamar Braxton has inserted foot in mouth again. Perhaps the reason why dudes aren’t paying you attention is because you’re annoying as F*%#,” another wrote.
Another believes Braxton’s continued antics is hurting her career.
“Tamar Braxton continues to hurt herself and her career. PERIOD,” he said.
Tamar Braxton says she’s not homophobic
Addressing a headline via Twitter, Braxton refuted claims that she was homophobic.
“This is what we are NOT going to do. I wasn’t FORCED to apologize for ANYTHING,” she wrote. “Let’s state FACTS!! I have OPENLY been apart of the lgbt community since the 4th grade! My ENTIRE staff is as well!! And I will continue 2support. But I will also make FACTUAL statements about MY LIfE.”
She also clarified that the comments had nothing to do with a personal experience of hers. Instead, Braxton claims that the post was inspired by a private conversation she had with her friends about their love lives.
Fans aren’t buying it. Hopefully, this backlash forces Braxton to be more mindful about her posts.
