As it turns out, fans can relate to Clarkson for yet another reason — her obsession with Chrissy Teigen, America’s favorite model, cooking sensation and Twitter star.

In 2002, Clarkson rose to fame on American Idol with her soaring vocals and charismatic personality. In the years since, she has stayed popular with fans and gone on to act, work on her music, and mentor other young singers. When she joined The Voice as a judge in 2017, there were a lot of critics who tried to compare her to previous female judges like Christina Aguilera or Gwen Stefani. But Clarkson soon proved that she had what it took to carve her own legacy on the show.
Her raucous, fun-loving personality has made her a big hit on the show, and the way she interacts with fellow judges Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and John Legend helps to ensure that fans tune in every single week. Clarkson has said that she loves working on The Voice, and even though she has her very own upcoming daytime talk show in the fall, has not announced any plans to leave The Voice.

John Legend, Teigen’s husband, recently joined The Voice as a judge and the EGOT-winning performer wasted no time in establishing a little bit of friendly competition with Clarkson. During a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon, Clarkson opened up about the bet that she hopes to make with the talented fellow judge. She claimed that although Legend is not yet aware of the bet, she wants to challenge Legend that if she loses this season of The Voice, Teigen will have to cook her a meal. On the flip side, if Legend wins this season of the show, they still have to invite her over for dinner.
Why Kelly Clarkson loves Chrissy Teigen
In her interview, Clarkson and Jimmy Fallon both gushed “we love Chrissy,” with Clarkson claiming that she is “obsessed” with the social-media star. It’s easy to see why Clarkson is so smitten with Teigen. Like Clarkson herself, Teigen is well known for keeping it real with her fans and has opened up about everything from her struggles with postpartum depression to how challenging it has been to be a mom to two young kids.
Also similar to Clarkson, Teigen has admitted that she has dealt with weight issues after having her children. Recently, she posted on Twitter that while she is about twenty pounds heavier than what she was before having her and Legend’s second child, Miles, she is happy to take the extra pounds since she is so much happier than she ever has been before. Clarkson has also been a voice for body positivity and likes to make jokes about putting on “extra holiday weight” around Thanksgiving and Christmas time.
While it’s too early to tell who might take the winning edge on The Voice, America is now certainly rooting for Clarkson, since it means she will get to live out the dream of thousands of fans all over the world and get to enjoy a homemade meal from Teigen herself.
