God Friended Me Season 2 Episode 17 gave fans a big dose of the warm and fuzzies but held back on plot points that would move the story forward. After the episode, titled ‘Harlem Cinema House,’ several questions still remain about the overall Season 2 story arc. Alas, viewers will have to wait quite a while to find out where the plot will head next. The show, which usually airs on Sundays at 8 p.m., is taking a break on March 22. Here’s the scoop on what is airing instead and when God Friended Me will return.
What will replace ‘God Friended Me’ on March 22 on CBS?
Instead of God Friended Me, CBS will double down on crime drama procedurals with an encore episode of NCIS at 8 p.m., followed by a new episode of NCIS: Los Angeles in its regular time slot at 9 p.m. The NCIS episode that will air in place of God Friended Me is Episode 14 of the 17th season, titled ‘On Fire.’ It will feature a hit-and-run accident that injures Torres, placing him in the Intensive Care Unit.
NCIS stars Mark Harmon, Sean Murray, Emily Wickersham, Wilmer Valderrama, Maria Bello, Brian Dietzen, Diona Reasonover, Rocky Carroll, and David McCallum.
When will ‘God Friended Me’ return to its regular time slot?
According to tvguide.com, God Friended Me will return to its regular time slot with Season 2 Episode 18, ‘Almost Famous,’ on Sunday, March 29. In the episode, the God Account suggests that Miles connect with a hospital administrator who is in charge of a new drug trial that could become a part of Ali’s cancer treatment plan.
Unfortunately, ‘Almost Famous’ will be followed by another short hiatus from new episodes. The series is scheduled to take an additional week off and air the next new episode, ‘The Fugitive,’ on Sunday, April 12. It begs the question: Just as the coronavirus outbreak affected the shooting schedule for several television shows, did it also impact the broadcast schedule?
What questions need to be answered before the end of the season?
God Friended Me has several active storylines heating up as the series approaches the end of Season 2.
Will Ali’s health status take a turn for better or for worse? Could the possibility of participating in a drug trial make a difference for the young bartender? Will Miles and Cara continue to successfully navigate through the friend zone or will the reporter’s new possible love connection be too much for Miles to handle? Could Rakesh’s quest to connect with a soulmate through technology come to fruition? Will the persistent search for the person behind the God Account finally pay off?
Fans can only hope that God Friended Me will resolve at least a few storylines before Season 2 officially wraps.
God Friended Me stars Brandon Michael Hall, Violett Beane, Suraj Sharma, Javicia Leslie, Joe Morton, and Erica Gimpel. Until the show returns to CBS on March 29, viewers can stream previous episodes any time on CBS All Access.
