Why Kardashian Fans Can’t Stand Corey Gamble
The Kardashian family is never low on drama, and things have been getting hot and heavy in the brand new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. E! recently teased a preview for the upcoming September 22nd episode of the show, which revealed Kris Jenner’s boyfriend, Corey Gamble, and Scott Disick getting into a shouting match over Gamble threatening to physically discipline Disick’s daughter: Penelope. Fan reaction was swift and intense, and viewers have taken to social media to break down what makes Gamble such an unlikable presence on the show.
When did Kris Jenner start dating Corey Gamble?
In late 2014, Jenner had recently separated from her longtime partner, Caitlyn Jenner. The two would officially divorce the following year, around the same time Caitlyn Jenner transitioned from male to female. It was also around that time that Kris Jenner met Corey Gamble at a mutual friend’s birthday party.
While sparks might have flown from that first meeting, it wasn’t until November of 2014 that rumors about the two of them dating first started to circulate. By the spring of 2015, Gamble and Jenner were definitely an item, and their relationship started to get featured on episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. They are soon spotted all over town, attending church services together and double-dating with other celebrity couples.
While there have been plenty of rumors about the nature of the couple’s relationship, with some sources alleging that their romance is more “business than personal,” Jenner consistently states that she is happy with Gamble, even though she has no plans to ever marry again.
The Kardashian family doesn’t always get along with Gamble
While Jenner might love Gamble, not everyone in her family feels the same way. Khloe Kardashian has gotten into confrontations several times with Gamble over the past several years, with Gamble making it clear that he views their relationship as “peers” instead of a stepfather-type of a role. In May 2019, Kanye West started beef with Gamble when he asked why he and the rest of the family didn’t know more about Gamble’s past.
Gamble took offense to West’s questions, and it kickstarted a chain of awkward events that ultimately led to Khloe Kardashian and her best friend Malika arguing with Gamble yet again. Jenner stepped up to defend her much-younger boyfriend, saying that her family’s problems with Gamble hurt her feelings.
Kardashian fans don’t like Corey Gamble
Members of the Kardashian family aren’t the only ones who take issue with Gamble. Fans are notoriously not fond of him and recently took to social media to discuss their reactions to the September 22nd Keeping Up with the Kardashians sneak peek. While some pointed out that the drama could be manufactured and that Gamble probably just needed a storyline to stay on the network payroll, others stated that whether or not the scene is improvised, it is still not acceptable for Gamble to threaten to hit a child.
A few fans on Reddit also stated that they don’t believe Jenner and Gamble’s relationship is for real, echoing what some sources have revealed in the past. Whether or not Gamble does end up with a large role on Keeping Up with the Kardashians going forward, he will definitely have to alter his approach if he wants viewers to like him more.
