Why Lindsay Lohan Has Only Ever Audition For 1 Movie Her Entire Career
After years of being exiled from Hollywood and living as an expat overseas, Lindsay Lohan is back in the spotlight and it’s like she never left. Though her most recent ventures in the entertainment industry, including her failed reality series Lindsay which aired on OWN back in 2014 didn’t exactly go well– the former teen star isn’t letting that deter her. In fact, she’s about to return to the small screen for her new series, Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club which will air on MTV, Jan. 8, 2019.
Now, as she prepares to let the cameras into her world again, Lohan is reflecting on her career and revealing why she has only ever auditioned once.
Lohan suffers from crippling stage fright
Lindsay Lohan only ever auditioned for her 1998 breakout role in The Parent Trap. She explained to Variety,
I only auditioned for The Parent Trap. I would be terrified to audition. I don’t even know what it would be like. I think I would freeze. My agent asked me to read for something, and I was like, “I can’t.” I would panic. It’s such a different experience. I don’t think I could do it. Someone asked me to audition once — it was Oliver Stone for “Savages,” and I met with him and they wanted me to read, and I said, “I’m really, really bad at this, and I’m going to forget everything the second I start, so I might just ad-lib it.” And he was like, “You were great.” And I was like, “OK.” It was such a weird experience.
Still, Lohan did not let her stage fright stop her from snagging roles in Mean Girls, Freaky Friday and everything in between. She told Variety that she still wants to work with Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg. For now, she’s pumped about Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club.
What is Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club about?
The reality series will follow Lohan who now lives in Mykonos, Greece. She has opened a luxe beach clubhouse — Lohan Beach House, The cameras will follow her as she manages her property and business. In an interview with Paper Magazine, she said about the series, “I really wanted to make it a family-style beach. A place where people can go with their kids and feel safe. They can have fun and there’s not cameras every second. It’s not just a party thing; you can have a nice lunch.”
MTV said, “Viewers will get to see a new side of Lohan as she calls the shots with her handpicked team of young and ambitious VIP hosts who will have to do whatever it takes to secure Lohan’s name as the definition of vacation luxury.”
Despite her stumbles, we think Lohan has carved out quite a name for herself even though she’s only auditioned once over 20 years ago.
