Why Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s ‘Relationship Is Strengthening’ After Feud Rumors
The Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton feud rumors may finally be behind them, with two recent appearances showing the women looking friendly and on good terms. According to one royal expert, their “relationship is strengthening” as they bond over something they now have in common –—motherhood.
Is the feud over?
Rumors of the two duchesses not getting along have plagued them for some time, reaching an all-time high when Prince Harry and Markle moved out of Kensington Palace.
Now it appears that the feud rumors may have dwindled, supported most notably by Markle and Middleton looking completely happy together while watching a Wimbledon tennis match recently.
Body language expert Blanca Cobb told Cosmopolitan that “there was no evidence of a feud at the event,” adding, “Meghan and Kate were enjoying each other’s company.”
Cobb shared that they’re “enjoying the moment” at the tennis tournament and analyzed photos from the event, with one showing “Kate is tilting her shoulder downwards as if to get closer to Meghan, which shows interest in what someone has to say. They both also have genuine smiles, as indicated by the crinkling of the eyes, that you can see their top teeth, and that their cheek muscles are pushed up.”
In another photo, Cobb noted: “Meghan’s head is tilted a little bit to the right and Kate’s head is tilted a little bit to the left, and when you lean towards something, you lean towards something you like. It’s subconscious when this happens, so what that tells us is that there’s a level of comfort between them and even though they’re not talking, they’re still enjoying each other’s company.”
Additionally, Cobb shared, “I’m also seeing that there’s nothing tense in their body-language — their hands and finger are relaxed — which suggests that there’s no tension between them.”
Did Markle and Middleton bond over motherhood?
While there may have never actually been any feud between them, some royal experts believe that now that Markle is a mother, the two share the bond of motherhood in common.
A royal source told PEOPLE: “There is a sense of [Meghan and Kate’s] relationship strengthening,” with an insider noting that they “were genuine and sweet together” at Wimbledon.
A “close observer” shared that when Markle’s friend, Serena Williams, lost the match, “Kate put her hand out and rubbed Meghan’s back to console her.”
Royal commentator Victoria Arbiter noted that “it illustrated a warm relationship between these women who have young babies and are in similar situations in their lives.”
The women were ‘relaxed’ at a charity polo event
Middleton and Markle were also spotted at a charity polo match together, supporting their husbands, Prince William and Prince Harry, who played at the event. An insider shared that “They’re each a little more relaxed,” adding, “They have more in common now.”
Arbiter further shared that Archie’s arrival might have eased any tensions that may have existed between the duchesses, noting that “Babies are a great leveler.” She added: “The minute you’re bonding over your stories and sleepless nights, suddenly all the stuff that mattered before doesn’t matter anymore.”
