Why Meghan Markle May Not Get a Birthday Cake From Prince Harry
Happy birthday, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. Officially 39 years old as of August 4, 2020, Meghan is marking a new year of her life.
Now living in Los Angeles with Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and their 1-year-old son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, a lot has changed since her last birthday.
She’s no longer a senior member of the British royal family and she’s now back living in her hometown. Whatever Meghan’s birthday plans might be, chances are there may not include a traditional birthday cake.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry might take a road trip for ‘a change of scenery’
No elaborate birthday celebration for Meghan in 2020. Instead, she’s supposedly opting for “low-key” festivities. Royal expert, Katie Nicholl, speculated ahead of Meghan’s birthday, she and Harry make take a road trip to Montecito, California, for a “change of scenery.”
As Nicholl pointed out, the two have barely left Tyler Perry’s mansion where they’ve been staying with Archie, since March 2020.
“It’s been a very stressful time for Meghan, so it wouldn’t surprise me at all if she does actually decide to just go on a road trip and have a change of scenery,” Nicholl said. “I mean, they’ve been at the house that they’re renting ever since early March now. They really haven’t been out much at all.”
Meghan Markle prefers a glass of wine to a chocolatey dessert
Whether or not they do take the aforementioned road trip, Meghan’s birthday is likely to include wine. The Duchess of Sussex loves wine so much she named her now-defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig, after her favorite vino, Tignanello.
And before becoming a member of the British royal family, the Duchess of Sussex spoke with Delish about her eating habits. A self-proclaimed foodie, Meghan shared that she’s more likely to skip a chocolate dessert in favor of a “big, beautiful red.”
She doesn’t exclusively stick to reds. Meghan likes Argentinian Malbecs, French cabs, and pinot noirs hailing from Oregon. And in the summertime, she says “it’s rosé all day.”
So, instead of celebrating her birthday over a slice of cake, Meghan might mark the occasion by sipping on wine.
Meghan Markle has a weakness for french fries
Another one of Meghan’s favorite foods? French fries. In the same interview with Delish, she shared that she has a weakness for fries, of course, wine.
“French fries and vino are my vices,” Meghan said.
She continued, saying that fries are their “own food group.”
“I’m always hoping I’m having lunch with people, so we can share fries,” Meghan said. “It’s its own food group for me.”
By the sounds of it, Meghan’s birthday would be better marked with a plate of fries and a glass of wine rather than a slice of cake. Although if Harry wants to get really creative, maybe he’ll have a cake made to look like french fries and a bottle of Tignanello.
