Why Prince Harry Is ‘Worried About Archie’ in the Fight to Protect His Family

Prince Harry has expressed the need to protect his family at all costs, sharing during an interview for the documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey just how much of a priority it is to him. According to one royal expert, he “wants to protect his nest” and is “worried about Archie,” due to their very public life in the spotlight.

Prince Harry fired back at the media

Prince Harry sent a very clear message when he released an emotional statement in light of the legal action he and his wife Meghan Markle are taking against the tabloid that published Markle’s private letter to her father.

Prince Harry was on the attack, calling out the tabloids for their bullying and “ruthless campaign” against Markle.

A royal insider told People: “He is looking at ways to protect Meghan and he is worried about Archie. He wants to protect his nest, and this is the only way he can think of doing so.”

Harry shared his concerns in the statement, drawing parallels to his mother Princess Diana’s experience with the press and noting: “Though this action may not be the safe one, it is the right one. Because my deepest fear is history repeating itself. I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditised to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person. I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.”

Prince Harry’s priority is his family

Prince Harry and Markle are unwavering in their position, with Prince Harry stating: “To stand back and do nothing would be contrary to everything we believe in.”

Additionally, Prince Harry spoke of his commitment to protecting his family, noting in an interview for the documentary: “My mum clearly taught me a certain set of values of which I always try and uphold, despite the role and the job… I think I will always protect my family, and now I have a family to protect.”

Prince Harry continued: “Everything that she went through and what happened to her is incredibly raw every single day, and that is not being me being paranoid. That’s just me not wanting a repeat of the past.”

He added: “If anybody else knew what I knew, be it a father or be it a husband, be it anyone, you would probably be doing exactly what I am doing as well.”

The Sussexes are “standing up” for what they believe in

During the interview, Prince Harry also remarked how “putting on a brave face and turning a cheek” has been the go-to move, but addressed how “there is a lot of stuff that hurts, especially when the majority of it is untrue.”

Prince Harry continued: “But all we need to do is focus on being real, and focus on being the people that we are, and standing up for what we believe in. I will not be bullied into playing a game that killed my mum.”
