Why ‘RHOA’ Stars Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams Will Be Friends This Season

It’s no secret that RHOA stars Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams have had a rocky relationship. The two bumped heads from the beginning of their time on the show, with both joining in season 5. The two have had serious public spats, and things at one point turned physical.

Time has passed since they’ve both been on the show together, with Moore taking a break from filming after season 10 to focus on her family. With time apart, the two have buried the hatchet and have been sharing behind the scenes moments of their time together filming season 12 of the reality series.

It’s been a long journey traveled with Moore and Williams which appears to have finally ended in friendship. The two have a lot more in common now than ever before, leaving room for a budding relationship.

Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams are mothers

Both Moore and Williams have been extremely vocal about their desire to be mothers. In their first season of Housewives, fans watched Williams struggle with her ex-husband to agree to starting a family. Williams suffered a miscarriage previously and spoke openly about her feelings of her ex’s lack of support for them to have a child.

Moore’s dream to have a husband and baby never seemed it would come to fruition. At one point on the show, she considered having a baby on her own and living life as a single mother. Bravo’s The Daily Dish revealed that she told Life & Style that she’d use a donor to have the child she’s always wanted. “I’m going to do in vitro,” she continues. “I just have to figure out whose sperm to use! I have some options … I wouldn’t mind having a modern family,” she said.

Despite the ups and downs in love, both Moore and Williams received what they ultimately wanted. Williams became a mother to a baby girl, Pilar Jhena McKinley, with her fiance’, Dennis, in March 2019. Moore found love in her soon to be ex-husband, Marc Daly, and after difficulties conceiving, they welcomed their daughter, Brooklyn Doris Daly, through help with in vitro in November 2018.

Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams suffered public divorces

When Williams first joined the cast, she was married to former NFL star Kordell Stewart. The two were newly married when Williams began on the show and she portrayed her marriage as being picture-perfect. A traditional housewife, Williams adopted the textbook version of what it meant to be a stay at home wife, opting to not work and manage her household while her husband cared for her financially.

Williams and Moore clashed often with Moore considering her castmate to be immature and lacking substance because of her housewife status. She never failed to make her opinions known to Williams and their relationship suffered. Williams suffered an embarrassing divorce after finding out her husband filed on social media, leaving her to rebuild herself as a single woman.

While Williams was a married woman, Moore was on the hunt for her Mr. Right. She dated season after season but was not as lucky in love. But after years of heartbreak, she married Marc Daly in 2017 and gave birth a year later. Sadly, Moore announced that she was filing for divorce earlier this week after a little over two years of marriage.

Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams are happy to rebuild friendship

With their troubled past behind them, Williams and Moore are excited about their new friendship. Moore was the first to get pregnant with her daughter but Williams didn’t fall far behind. When she announced her pregnancy to the world, Moore was one of the first to support. “Congrats!” she wrote Williams on her Instagram post. Being pregnant at the same time proved to be a starting point for the two women.

Williams spoke with Essence Magazine in May 2019 about how the two continue to support each other through motherhood. “Kenya gave me great advice throughout my pregnancy,” Willams explained. “She was very helpful in me finding a nanny.”

Hopefully, they continue to move in the right direction.
