The 1 Reason Why the Royal Family Has No Faith in Harry and Meghan’s Future As Private Citizens

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are officially private citizens. The two cut ties with the royal family in early January 2020, and since then, they’ve started a new life on Vancouver Island in British Columbia.

Despite the couple’s high-profile departure, the royal family has reportedly put a contingency plan in place in case the Sussexes return. And there’s one reason why the queen seemingly doesn’t have faith in their future as it stands.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently left the royal family

When Harry and Meghan were first married, it seemed like everything in their lives would be blissful. But the two quickly learned that royal life would not be so kind to them. Meghan was heavily scrutinized from the moment she married into the family. Tabloids would dig through Meghan’s past to find anything they could to knock her down. The Duchess of Sussex was labeled a social climber, and stories were released about her reported feuds with staff members and Kate Middleton.

Meghan and Harry ultimately decided that the press treatment was too much for them to handle. The two announced their departure from the royal family at the beginning of 2020.

The two are searching for a more private life in Canada

Harry and Meghan spent six weeks on Vancouver Island in British Columbia at the end of 2019. The two wanted a break from the media and were likely doing a trial run of how life would be if they left the family. It’s clear that they fell in love with the area, since they were quick to return upon their major royal announcement.

Now, the two have settled into their new home. Meghan was spotted walking the couple’s dogs with Archie, and she was all smiles, despite the paparazzi.

The royals think Meghan and Harry’s media scrutiny will be too much for them

Though Harry and Meghan appear to have settled in nicely, there have already been rumors that they are regretting their decision to split from the other royals. Royal family commentator Rob Shuter recently said on Good Day New York that the royal family is concerned that Meghan and Harry’s media scrutiny will prove to be too much for them in their private lives as well.

Harry and Meghan were protected by the royal family when they lived on the grounds of Windsor Castle. But now that they’re on their own, some of that protection is gone (though they still have a hefty security team). The royals are reportedly concerned that they won’t be able to handle the media on their own and, as a result, they’ll eventually rejoin the family.

The family has reportedly put a plan in place should the couple return

Though Harry and Meghan seemed final in their decision to separate, the royal family has reportedly put a plan in place in case the two don’t last on their own. The media has always been relentless toward the couple, and things haven’t changed much since they left the family. It seems the queen doesn’t have much faith in their non-royal future and is already planning for the two to make a royal comeback.
