Why Sources Claim Abby Lee Miller From ‘Dance Moms’ Is Working Heavily on Her Will
Whether you love Abby Lee Miller or you can’t stand her methods for teaching young girls how to grow to become successful dancers, there’s no doubt the infamous Dance Moms instructor has made a name for herself over the years. We remember her best for her strict instruction, but she’s also caused quite a stir through the years for reasons unrelated to the show. Miller was caught up in a legal scandal that resulted in jail time. Shortly after that, she was also diagnosed with cancer and has been battling the disease ever since.
Fans of Dance Moms are thrilled that Miller is making a comeback and returning to the show for Season 8, but there’s recently been alarming news. Certain sources have claimed Miller is working extensively on her will, and here’s why.
Abby Lee Miller was diagnosed with a form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma

So much gratitude and love for those who listened, those who looked deeper and those who leapt into action. So much more I wish I could say……about how quickly your life can change at the hands of others. Thanks for ❤️ #abbyleemiller #abbylee #aldc #aldcla #aldcalways #dancemoms #iwilldance
It seems Miller couldn’t catch a break in 2018. E! News reports after the star was released from prison for bankruptcy fraud in March 2018, she went in for emergency surgery that April for an infection around her spine. The infection turned out to be a form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. As Miller wrote on Instagram, “So much gratitude and love for those who listened, those who looked deeper and those who leapt into action. So much more I wish I could say……about how quickly your life can change at the hands of others.”
Miller proved she wasn’t giving up even with her dire diagnosis, and since then, she’s gone through countless rounds of chemo and multiple emergency surgeries. She also lost her ability to walk but remained hopeful she’d regain this. As one insider told E! News, “She has been open about her diagnosis with her close friends who are in awe of Abby Lee’s fighting spirit. Her inner circle is rallying around her with support and regular visits to the Dance Moms star.”
Her treatments and physical therapy have allegedly proven unsuccessful
Things to seemed to be looking up for Miller more recently, as she completed her rounds of chemo and remained hopeful she’d be walking again. Unfortunately, Radar Online reports she’s been working heavily on her will as of late. As a source close to Miller told the publication, “The treatment and physical therapy has not been as successful as doctors had hoped. She still can’t walk and is in a wheelchair.”
As for what’s in her will, Radar says teacher and choreographer Gianna Martello is planning on taking over the studios located in Los Angeles and Pittsburgh. The source said Gia and friends back home will be getting most of Miller’s wealth, too. “Gia is getting the studio,” the source claimed. “She’s basically the kid Abby never had. Gia will get most of what she has to carry on her legacy.”
Regardless, she will continue on with filming Dance Moms
Even with this report, it seems Miller is still planning on making her TV comeback with Season 8 of Dance Moms. Radar Online reports a source close to production said, “They have started filming and apparently they will pick up from inside the hospital where Abby needs to build a team from scratch. She’s starting all over, a full reset.”
As for what fans can expect from Season 8, the insider said the show will take on the same format and choreographer Gianna Martello “will have a bigger role.” And, though the show has started filming and casting already, it seems like things may still be slightly up in the air — and there’s still a chance it may not return at all, despite Miller confirming her return via Instagram. Fans are hopeful Miller can continue on with the show despite current health concerns, but recent news of her will does have us wondering.
