Why ‘The Bachelorette’ Revealed When And Why Luke P. Gets Sent Home

A couple episodes ago, The Bachelorette did something it normally doesn’t do: it gave away the demise of one of its contestants. In a preview shown at the end of a recent episode, audiences learned that controversial contestant Luke Parker would soon be sent home.

We don’t know exactly what happens, but we do see the argument that inspires Bachelorette Hannah Brown to send Parker packing.

Basically, during the evening portion of a date, Parker broaches the topic of sex. He tells Brown that if she were to have sex with any of the contestants during fantasy suites or otherwise, he’d want to leave the show.

“I wanna make sure she’s not sleeping around. I don’t think she would ever do that, but I want to make sure,” he tells the camera.

Then we see footage of the two on a date:

“Let’s talk about sex, and how the marriage bed should be kept pure. Let’s say you have had sex with one or more of these guys, I’d be wanting to go home,” Parker tells a shocked Brown.

“I don’t owe you anything. My husband would never say what you said to me. I have had sex and, honestly, Jesus still loves me,” she responds.

We then see a vehicle driving (we assume Parker) away while Brown gives it the bird and an eye roll.

But the previews have also been teasing an early proposal that takes place. Many fans assume Parker comes back with his own ring to propose to Brown.

We see a tearful Brown struggling with a decision.

Why did ‘The Bachelorette’ let audiences know Luke P. is going home soon?

From early on in Brown’s season of The Bachelorette, Parker has been painted as a villain. He’s been portrayed so heavily as a villain, in fact, that some viewers have been complaining about the quality of the season simply because he’s involved. Fans have said, week after week, that they’re tired of watching Parker on their screens.

One theory is that The Bachelorette let everyone know that the Parker story is almost over for fear of losing viewers. The producers certainly alerted us that Parker’s exit will be satisfying, if nothing else.

Luke P. had a very successful hometown

Unfortunately for anti-Parker fans, the first impression rose winner had a successful hometown date with Brown during last night’s episode. So the highly anticipated breakup scene might not happen this coming week. The couple seems to, finally, be on stable ground.

“Luke told me he loved me. It felt really good. Made my heart do flutteries,” Brown told the camera at the end of her date with Parker. “I’m feeling like I’ve fallen in love with him–I’m falling in love with him.”
