Why Travis Scott Really Deleted His Instagram
Days later, Travis Scott still hasn’t returned to Instagram. The ASTROWORLD hitmaker deleted his account during the week of Oct. 25 in what has been reported as an attempt to stop criticism over his Halloween 2020 costume. However, a new report says that’s not what happened at all.
Travis Scott has abandoned Instagram
The move came shortly after Travis Scott went on social media to show off his costume. On Oct. 31, he posted a video and several photos showing him dressed as Batman. But instead of wearing Batman’s classic black suit, he donned a brown version of it.
After sharing the clips, he quickly went viral, with many people criticizing and roasting him over his costume. As BuzzFeed notes, he was called names such as Chocoman and compared to things such as bugs and Flea from ¡Mucha Lucha!
Jokes were still rolling in when his Instagram page suddenly disappeared, prompting news reports that he deleted his Instagram due to backlash.
But here’s the reported real reason Travis Scott deleted his Instagram
So far, Travis Scott has not directly commented on the reason he got rid of his Instagram account, which had tens of millions of followers before he deleted it. However, a source told Page Six in a report published on Nov. 3 that his decision had nothing to do with the backlash he received.
“Halloween had nothing to do with it,” said the insider. “He is focusing on his family and their well-being and wants to influence his fans to do the same instead of being so consumed with social media.”
The insider also said Travis Scott was motivated to leave social media because it’s “such a critical time in the world right now.” The source did not elaborate, but in recent months, Travis Scott has spoken out about several issues, including racism, police brutality, and the U.S. presidential election.
Travis Scott has specifically been spending time with his daughter, Stormi Webster
Before his break from Instagram, Travis Scott seemed to be spending more time with Kylie Jenner and their daughter Stormi, 2. The pair notably made headlines in mid-October when they posed together for a steamy photo in what appeared to be Jenner’s $36 million mansion. But that’s not to say that they’re back together.
“Kylie and Travis are coparenting amazingly right now and love spending time together with Stormi and making her happy,” an insider previously told Us Weekly. “Travis is a hands-on, super engaged dad and always wants to make Stormi smile. She is such a happy child.”
Hopefully, this break will give him everything he needs before getting back out there!
