Why Won’t Gwen Stefani Pregnancy Rumors Go Away?

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been America’s “it” couple since late 2015. At first, many fans thought that the two were an odd pairing. However, people had quickly warmed up to the idea of the country music icon and the rock goddess being a good match for each other once they saw how genuinely happy they looked every time they were around each other.

Once the media had seen how happy the two talented musicians made each other, it didn’t take them long to start spreading rumors that Stefani and Shelton were expecting their first child together.

So far, every rumor about an expecting child has been debunked. And even though there have been many people to call these tabloids out for spreading fake stories, it doesn’t seem to make the media stop making up the pregnancy rumors.

So, why don’t Stefani pregnancy rumors ever seem to go away? Here is what we know.

How long have Gwen Stefani pregnancy rumors been swirling around?

Pregnancy rumors have followed Stefani and Shelton from the moment that they went public with their relationship. Just a few after they announced that they were, in fact, dating, OK Magazine published an article with the headline: “Blake Shelton Ready to Take on Being a Dad with Gwen Stefani.”

Many fans were excited that Shelton was finally going to be a dad, but after a few months had passed and Stefani was not yet looking pregnant, many fans started to realize that that there was no truth to the stories that the tabloids were telling.

The rumors continued

Even though the media had been busted several times for lying about Stefani being pregnant, that didn’t seem to deter other media outlets from continuing to spread the same lies. The rumors continued in 2017, 2018, and are still continuing to be spread at the present moment.

In 2018, Celebrity Insider had busted a rumor that OK Magazine had once again started where they reported that Stefani and Shelton were finally having their “miracle baby.”

Not only did they say that Stefani was pregnant, but also that they were expecting a girl, planning on naming her after Shelton’s mom, and that his BFF, Adam Levine, was going to be the godfather of the child.

The latest rumor was reported by Radar Online. The celebrity gossip site had claimed that Stefani was starting to “pack on the pounds” in hopes that by gaining extra weight, she would have a better chance at becoming pregnant with Shelton’s baby.

Just like all of the other rumors, this one also seems to be lacking any kind of truth to it.

Why won’t Stefani pregnancy rumors go away?

It’s hard to say exactly why the media is so obsessed with Stefani becoming pregnant. It could be because she has three sons of her own, and maybe the world feels like it should now be Shelton’s turn to get to experience the parenting life as well. However, it seems like Shelton is more than happy with being a stepdad to Stefani’s three kids.

Last year, in an interview on Today Show Shelton told Hoda, “At this point in my life, I kind of had put [having children] as like, ‘Well, that wasn’t meant to be.’ Then all of the sudden it happens one way or another and it’s like, ‘Wow, I missed out on a lot. And so having [Gwen’s kids] around…I don’t even know how to describe it. It’s so much fun.”

It seems like Shelton and Stefani are more than happy with the way their family is now. And although there will probably be a few more pregnancy rumors to come, however, the fact that there have been so many already, fewer people are starting to even pay attention to the rumors.

Once fans start ignoring the rumors all together, there is a good chance that they will eventually go away altogether.
