Why You Won’t Find Priyanka Chopra Hanging Out At the Gym (and How She Stays Fit Instead)
Almost two years ago, Priyanka Chopra had her extravagant three-day wedding to Jonas Brothers frontman Nick Jonas. Fans had noticed the beautiful and fit the young actress had looked on her special day. And while her exceptional looks were nothing new, many wondered how she is able to always look so flawless and in shape.
Many people believe that Chopra must spend hours a day in the gym, but in reality, the 37-year-old actress has admitted to never visiting the gym very much. So, how does Chopra manage to look so great without working out constantly? Here are a few things that we know about Chopra’s diet and exercise regimen.
Priyanka Chopra believes moderation is key
When it comes to the way Chopra eats, she has said that for the most part, she likes to eat healthy foods like fruits and veggies. But that does not mean that she never eats junk food. According to Harper’s Bazaar, Chopra makes sure that she eats healthy during the week, but on the weekend, she gives in to all of the cravings and uses that time to indulge herself in some of the best-tasting junk food.
She has also said that she doesn’t really have a diet and she just eats what she wants when she wants. If she does start to gain a little weight, she will make sure to eat healthy for the next few days until she gets back down to her target weight.
“Fortunately I do not have a tendency to put on weight and can get away with eating as much as I want to,” Chopra had said. “I don’t really have a diet, I wing it by the seat of my pants. It’s such a girl thing to do, like if I feel, ‘Ughh, I put on a few pounds’ and I feel gross about [myself] I suddenly start eating salad, protein, and soup. Otherwise, if I am feeling like I am in great shape I am okay with cheeseburgers and pizza. So, when someone asks me about my diet I feel terrible saying that I don’t really have one.”
Priyanka Chopra definitely doesn’t consider herself a ‘gym junkie’
Chopra does like to exercise somewhat regularly, but she doesn’t spend hours at the gym each day. Her favorite ways to stay in shape are going to spin class and doing yoga. She only exercises so that she can maintain her current weight. She never goes to the gym with the goal to lose weight.
She had once told E! Online that when it comes to exercise and dieting, she never goes overboard, and for the most part, just does what she wants.
“You know, I’m lazy. I want to take advantage of the fact that I have a great metabolism,” Chopra said. “When I start getting fat I’ll work on it! I like food, and I don’t like the gym, and as long as I look like this without doing anything, why bother?”
Other than some moderate cardio and yoga, Chopra says that she doesn’t really need to exercise all that much in order to stay in shape. She assumes that she was blessed with good genes that allow her to stay in shape without having to kill herself in the gym.
Priyanka Chopra’s husband isn’t as carefree with his diet and exercise plan
Because Jonas has such a busy career, he has to work extra hard to ensure that his body stays in peak condition. He had once told GQ Magazine that while he was getting ready for his role on Direct TV’s new original series, Kingdom, he had to go on a grueling exercise regimen that consisted of weight and strength training for several hours a day.
He has also said that he usually only trains that hard if he has to for work, otherwise, he doesn’t really like the gym and he will sometimes do yoga with Chopra. Unlike his wife, he has never really been able to eat whatever he wants because he has type 1 diabetes. However, he does still have a few guilty pleasures and says that he really enjoys drinking Coors Light from time to time.
