Will Any Marvel Shows Premiere With the Disney+ Launch?
Disney+ will launch on November 12, 2019, and with an insurmountable store of content about to become “binge-able” — over 600 famous titles — Disney animation fans, Marvel enthusiasts, National Geographic edutainment lovers, and Pixar admirers alike are all prepping to type in their credit card numbers.
At $6.99/ month, Disney+ will be one of the most reasonably-priced streaming services on the market! While HBO Max is planning to charge $14.99 per month — remaining atop its age-old pedestal now resting on a rocky foundation — Disney knows how to attract consumers: good content at an even better price. The question is: out of the 600 titles, how many will be new? How many shows are set to premiere, and will any of the new content be Marvel-related?
San Diego Comic-con and D23 took the world by storm, as a slew of scintillating superhero stories for Disney+ were announced. From Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision to Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk, MCU fans better be ready for some high-quality TV content, as all of these shows will boast budgets to rival Game of Thrones.
Unfortunately, none of the above-mentioned shows will premiere with the launch of Disney+; however, ONE Marvel-themed show will be available to audiences when Disney+ launches on November 12.
The ONLY Marvel-related show premiering with the Disney+ launch
According to BGR, Marvel’s Hero Project will be available on launch day. So, what is Marvel’s Hero Project? The unscripted series will share the positive impact that several young, real-life heroes are making in their communities across the country, according to Marvel.com.
These youngsters, working to save the day, will be immortalized in a comic book dedicated to their accomplishments, and in this Marvel series for Disney+. The show should be inspiring for adults, yet quite impactful for the MCU’s younger fans, who flock to the theaters wondering what they are capable of — what one child can do to help save the day.
WandaVision is scheduled to release in 2021 while filming on Falcon and the Winter Soldier has already begun. Falcon and the Winter Soldier is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2020. So, if you’re planning to get Disney+ for the original Marvel content, you may want to wait a bit; it will be quite sometime before you get to stream Loki, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, etc.
What else will premiere with the Disney+ launch?
While several of the most highly-anticipated Marvel shows will not premiere with the launch of Disney+, The Mandalorian, a Star Wars drama, will be available when Disney+ launches. So, all the Star War fans should be pleased. Other titles that will become available on November 12 include:
- High School Musical: The Musical: The Series
- Forky Asks a Question
- SparkShorts (short-form Pixar films)
- The Imagineering Story
- The World According to Jeff Goldblum
- Lady and the Tramp
From The Mandalorian to the Lady and the Tramp reboot, there are a few reasons to get Disney+ come launch, even if you are mostly interested in the new Marvel content.
