Will Jon and Kate Gosselin’s 8 Kids Appear in ‘Kate Plus Date’?
Jon and Kate Gosselin achieved near instant fame when Jon & Kate Plus 8 first hit TLC over a decade ago. The couple allowed cameras to follow them as they raised their set of twins and sextuplets. Of course, we know now that their marriage didn’t last, and it all came crashing down right in front of their fans’ eyes. Now, it seems the family is more divided than ever, as some of the eight children are living with Jon, and some with Kate.
While Jon may be finished with reality TV, Kate certainly isn’t, as she’s ready to make her comeback with a dating show titled Kate Plus Date. Which of their kids will we see on the new series? Here’s what’s suspected.
Kate has recently discussed her excitement for Kate Plus Date
Kate Gosselin has seemingly kept a low profile through the beginning of 2019, but this February, she recently attended the Television Critics Winter Press Tour to discuss her TV comeback, People reports. She’s excited to share her dating journey on Kate Plus Date, as she’s wanted to find someone to share her life with now that her kids are growing up fast. “I learned so much about myself and so much about how I react to different situations. And it’s painful at times. I’m hard to watch, exciting, awkward, fun and really rewarding,” she said regarding filming the show.
Kate may be excited to be back on TV, but we don’t ever expect to see Jon on a show of his own. And when it comes to putting the kids on a show, Kate has never expressed regret over having her eight children grow up with cameras around, either. Back in 2016, she expressed to People that she regretted her need to always be in control, but as far as TV is concerned, she was happy to give viewers a look into her life for so many years.
We know the twins, Mady and Cara, will appear on the show
We remember when the Gosselin twins and sextuplets were just kids when Jon & Kate Plus 8 first started, and it’s hard to believe the twins, Mady and Cara, are 18 years old. And the sextuplets are also growing up fast at 14 years old. As for if the sextuplets will appear on Kate Plus Date, we’re not sure — but it seems to be confirmed that Mady and Cara will definitely make an appearance. They were also in attendance with Kate at the Television Critics Winter Press Tour to discuss the show.
Not only will fans get to see Mady and Cara on the show, but they also seem completely excited for their mother to commit to this dating journey. As Mady said at the conference, “We’ve been nudging her to date for years, I think, and we’re all, all eight of us are so glad that she finally is. She deserves to be happy. Everyone deserves to be happy.”
It’s no secret that Mady and Cara don’t get along with father Jon, either. Back in 2016, People reported the twins weren’t speaking to Jon and chose not to see him anymore, too. We’re not sure what their status is now, but fans assume they’re still not in contact.
Collin and Hannah, two of the sextuplets, are unlikely to make appearances
Four of the sextuplets may make an appearance on Kate’s dating show, but fans are doubtful they’ll be seeing Hannah or Collin Gosselin on camera. And that’s because both Hannah and Collin live with Jon. The Hollywood Gossip reminds us Hannah was the first Gosselin child to choose to live with Jon full-time, and there are plenty of photos on his Instagram to support this, too. It appears Hannah goes to a different school than her siblings as well.
As for Collin, we know Jon recently attained custody of him after Kate failed to show up to court. While Kate claimed Collin had “special needs” and thus needed to be put into a separate facility to deal with his behavioral issues, it appears he’s out now and doing great. Jon has also refuted Kate’s “special needs” claim and also added that since Collin has been in his custody, Kate has had “zero” contact with him.
