Will Jon Gosselin Be Spending New Year’s Eve With All of His 8 Kids?
We’ve been following Jon and Kate Gosselin for years, and even in 2018, the ex-duo had some seriously dramatic moments. They’re remembered best for their time on TLC’s Jon & Kate Plus 8 where they both chronicled what their lives were like raising a set of twins and sextuplets in their Pennsylvania home. Nowadays, you’ll never see Jon and Kate together, however. The two divorced back in 2009 and have been publicly feuding over money and custody battles for the kids ever since.
Now that it’s the holiday season, many are wondering what the Gosselin’s are up to for New Year’s Eve celebrations. Here’s which kids Jon will be seeing as he rings in 2019.
He reportedly saw 4 of his 8 kids for New Year’s Eve in 2016
When Jon and Kate’s divorce was first settled, it was agreed upon that Kate would have full physical custody of the kids and Jon would get to have weekly dinners and overnight stays on the weekends with his children. Jon’s mentioned that it’s always been difficult getting all eight of his children together, though. According to Us Weekly, Jon claimed Kate only allowed him to see four kids at once. “Whoever comes through that gate or gets off that bus is who I get,” he said.
Fans saw evidence of this four-child limit back on New Year’s Eve in 2016. Jon posted a photo of him ringing in the 2017 New Year with four of sextuplets — Aaden, Joel, Hannah, and Leah. His girlfriend, Colleen, and a few of his friends were there as well. It’s safe to assume the other four Gosselin kids were with Kate for the evening. As for the twins, they’re totally estranged from Jon and don’t wish to speak to him, so it’s no surprise that they weren’t in attendance.
Now, he’s likely to only see 2 of his children
Jon hasn’t posted any New Year’s Eve plans on social media yet, but given how the rest of the month has been, it’s likely he’ll just be with two of his children. Hannah has been living with Jon permanently for months, In Touch Weekly reminds us. And the two have been seen having plenty of father-daughter time over the past year thanks to Jon’s Instagram photos.
Aside from Hannah, it’s highly likely that Collin, another one of the sextuplets, will be spending New Year’s Eve with Jon. Collin was reportedly in a facility for “special needs” for much of the year before being released into Jon’s care. And Jon just recently got temporary full custody of Collin, too. Kate never showed up to court, so it was an easy (yet slightly surprising) win for Jon and Hannah.
Jon, Hannah, and Collin looked like they had a great holiday season together so far. They picked out a Christmas tree together and, from the looks of it, had a fun Christmas with Colleen and her family, too.
Jon will probably be spending time with his girlfriend’s family, too
We’ve seen Jon and Colleen posing together for plenty of photos on his Instagram for years, and we’re assuming they’ll follow tradition and spend New Year’s Eve together as well. All of their time spent with each other (and with each other’s children) also has fans wondering how serious their relationship really is. They’ve been a couple for four years — so will they decide to get married in 2019?
Jon discussed the possibility of tying the knot with Us Weekly. “I’ve thought about [marriage]. We’ve talked about it. I’ve known Colleen my whole life, so yeah. We grew up three blocks from each other. Her sister used to babysit me,” he reminds us. Jon also told the publication that Colleen’s “drive” is something he really loves about her.
