Will Khloe Kardashian Continue to Date Basketball Players?
Khloe Kardashian’s relationships have long been the subject of media scrutiny, even before the latest cheating scandal involving her then-boyfriend Tristan Thompson and her sister Kylie Jenner’s best friend, Jordyn Woods. When it comes to her love life, Kardashian definitely seems to have a type: She’s been linked to several other top NBA players.
On Monday, April 1st, Khloe Kardashian and her sisters Kourtney and Kim Kardashian made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in order to promote the brand new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Kimmel made a point of diving deep into Kardashian’s penchant for basketball players, and she didn’t shy away from his questions.
What basketball players has Kardashian dated in the past?
Kardashian’s longest-running relationship to date was with NBA star Lamar Odom, following their whirlwind courtship. Kardashian married Odom in a grand ceremony in 2009 until she filed for divorce in 2013 for unspecified reasons. She later revealed that Odom had been unfaithful to her multiple times during the course of her marriage and he also had significant drug problems. After they separated, she went on to date James Harden of the Houston Rockets, before ultimately finding love (albeit briefly) with Tristan Thompson, a top player for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Needless to say, the breakdown of her relationship with Thompson made headlines all over the world.
Of course, Kardashian hasn’t exclusively dated NBA players, although that definitely seems to be a trend. During her separation from Odom in 2013 and prior to meeting Thompson in 2016, she briefly dated rapper French Montana and baseball player Matt Kemp. She has also been linked in the past to entertainment host Terrence J and rapper The Game — who was also reputed to have dated her sister Kim in years past — although neither of those relationships was ever publicly confirmed.
Why does she prefer basketball players?
During her interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Kardashian didn’t back down when the host asked her if maybe it was time to stop dating basketball players. Kardashian, with a smile, admitted that she likes what she likes. She went on to clarify that she actually enjoys the sport of basketball, and even though she doesn’t play, she loves to sit ringside and get up close while the game is going on.
Ultimately, Kardashian agreed with Kimmel that she should likely try to branch out and start dating outside her immediate type.
Whom does her family want her to date?
Currently, Kardashian is single. The new mom has admitted that she is very focused on spending time with her and Thompson’s daughter, True Thompson, and having fun with her family. Considering the drama is still unfolding in a very public manner on the new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, it could take a long time for Kardashian’s wounds to heal.
When she does start dating again, she might take some sage advice from her maternal grandmother, known to the family as MJ. On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kardashian admitted that MJ had suggested she start dating accountants. While that might be a reach, there is some wisdom to her grandmother’s advice — Kardashian has been used to dating young sports stars who are enjoying the spotlight and all that it brings. It might be better for her to be with someone who has no interest in fame and the perks of being with a celebrity — rather, just focusing on building and nurturing a loving relationship. Hopefully, Kardashian is able to meet someone that shares her passion for life, love, and possibly even basketball.
