Will Meghan Markle Regret Breaking Things Off With Her Father?
You’d be hard pressed to find a family who is not affected by some sort of drama. As most royal family fans are very well aware, this seems to be what is going on with Meghan Markle and her family, in particular, her father. The Duchess of Sussex and her father seemed to be on great terms right up until her wedding to Prince Harry.
Fans around the world were eager to see Thomas Markle, Sr. travel to London and walk Meghan down the aisle of St. George’s Chapel to marry her real-life prince. Harry even said that when things got serious with Meghan, he spoke to Thomas on the telephone. However, health issues apparently prevented Meghan’s father from attending the wedding, and he and his daughter have not been on speaking terms since.
Was Meghan Markle ever close to her father?
From what we can see, Meghan and her dad were close while she was growing up. There are many photographs of them enjoying activities such as horseback riding, and they always looked genuinely happy to be in each other’s presence. Meghan always spoke highly of her father, and, ironically, it was Thomas who introduced Meghan to the world of acting. He was a lighting director on the popular television show Married With Children, and his daughter spent significant time with him on the set. It was during this time in her life that she realized she had a passion for acting.
Does Meghan Markle have any family support?
Meghan definitely has the ongoing support of her mother, Doria Ragland. The Los Angeles-based yoga instructor is extremely close to her daughter and has traveled to the United Kingdom to spend time with her and Harry numerous times since they became a couple. Now that Doria is becoming a first-time grandmother, she is in England for an unknown amount of time so that she can be there for the duke and duchess and the new royal baby. Other than Doria, there aren’t really any family members that Meghan is close with.
Has Prince Harry tried to smooth things over?
We don’t know for sure. Chances are, Meghan and Harry have definitely talked about the Markle family drama in private. For the past year or so, Meghan’s sister, Samantha Grant, has been making many negative comments in interviews and on social media, criticizing her younger sister every time she gets a chance. Fans have even been wondering if Prince Charles or Queen Elizabeth will demand that this behavior comes to an end. While it hasn’t gone that far yet, we don’t know if Harry has spoken to any of Meghan’s family members on her behalf.
Will Meghan Markle regret breaking things off with her father?
In the future, she might. Welcoming a new baby is something that is special and should be shared with family members. In a few years, if the relationship is still not repaired, Meghan may regret the fact that her baby does not know his or her maternal grandfather.
She should definitely think about the fact that although she may be feeling hurt right now, it may be in her best interest to put those feelings aside and repair the relationship. Doing so just might be something that she will thank herself for later. However, it is an important decision that only Meghan can make. We know that she will think everything over carefully, and do what she feels is in her and her baby’s best interest.
