Will Meghan Markle Return to Social Media?

Along with royal life comes a lot of rules to follow. There are specific guidelines regarding how senior royals must dress for certain occasions, what styles of makeup they can wear, and even how to hold a teacup! While that may seem pretty drastic, there is one specific requirement that millions of people would find it very difficult to adhere to – senior royals are not permitted to have personal social media accounts.

It seems that just about everyone connects with others through one social media platform or another, whether it be Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. While there are accounts on behalf of royals, we won’t find those such as Kate Middleton or Meghan Markle personally running their own pages. Now that Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry are stepping down from their positions as senior royals there is one thing that many fans are just dying to know. Will Meghan Markle, who once ran her own lifestyle blog, and actively posted to Instagram, return to social media?

It seems like it was just yesterday that Meghan was portraying the character of Rachel Zane on the legal drama, Suits. Back then, she was free to do as she pleased, and connecting with her fans online was something that was important for her to do. Marie Claire reports that in January 2018, a few months before Meghan married into the royal family, she deleted all of her personal accounts, including her blog. While most people can’t go a few hours without checking their favorite social media accounts for updates from their friends and followers, Meghan said that deleting hers was one of the most “freeing” things she had ever done. Although there was a time when Meghan had just as active an online presence as the majority of her fans, things slowed down significantly when her relationship with Harry became serious, finally ending completely before becoming the Duchess of Sussex.

All royal fans remember when the news broke that Meghan and Harry planned to step down from their positions as senior royals and become independent. It was pretty shocking to hear – even more so since they made the announcement via Instagram. Now, there is speculation that this could have been a hint that when Megxit is finalized, Meghan plans to become active on social media again.

Will Meghan Markle return to social media?

Many people seem to think so, and the signs are definitely telling us that she just might. Now that Meghan will no longer be considered a “working” royal, we might be seeing her personal accounts become active again. While no one can say for sure if she will start up her blog once more, or even if she plans to return to any social media platforms, we are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for the best. Let’s hope to see Meghan back online soon!
