Will Princess Beatrice Get a Honeymoon After Her Royal Wedding During the COVID-19 Pandemic?

In the summer of 2020, Princess Beatrice had her very own royal wedding — the first one to happen during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her wedding, originally planned for May 2020, was rescheduled for July of the same year — and changed to a small, private celebration (only 20 guests in attendance). Although Princess Beatrice had to alter her wedding plans due to the coronavirus outbreak, will she get a honeymoon?

According to Vogue, Princess Beatrice’s wedding was “unlike other recent royal weddings.” For Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s weddings, “a top designer was secretly enlisted to create a showstopping gown.” However, for Princess Beatrice, she chose “a glamorous hand-me-down from Queen Elizabeth II.” However, Beatrice put her own spin on the Queen’s dress for her wedding day:

According to a statement issued by the palace, the ivory gown was an original design by Norman Hartnell, one of the queen’s favorites, made from peau de soie taffeta and trimmed with ivory duchesse satin. It featured organza sleeves, diamanté adornments, and a checkered, geometric bodice.

Yahoo completed the description of the bride’s look. Her bouquet consisted of “trailing jasmine, pale pink and cream sweet peas, royal porcelain ivory spray roses, pink O’Hara garden roses, pink waxflower, baby pink astilbe and, in keeping with royal tradition, sprigs of myrtle.”

Also in the tradition of previous royal brides, following the ceremony, the bouquet was taken to Westminster Abbey, where it was placed on the tomb of the unknown warrior.

Vogue also reported on whether or not Princess Beatrice and her new beau will get a honeymoon.

“Given the pandemic, there are no immediate plans for a proper honeymoon,” the publication acknowledged. What will the royals do instead? Vogue reported:

… Beatrice has reportedly told friends that she hopes to celebrate the marriage with ‘a huge party’ once COVID-19 cases begin to ebb and social distancing rules can be relaxed.

Who did Princess Beatrice marry? Once again, Vogue broke it down:

Known as Edo to his friends, the 36-year-old Mapelli Mozzi is CEO of Banda Property, a property development company. The couple apparently began dating in 2018, not long after Beatrice broke off a 10-year relationship with the British businessman Dave Clark.

Mapelli Mozzi has a child from a former relationship, a young boy nicknamed “Wolfie” (his full name being Christopher Woolf.) Wolfie “served as both the best man and ring bearer” for the July 2020 royal wedding.
