Will Sarah Ferguson Be Pushing Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice for Grandchildren Soon?

The royal baby is here, and fans of the family couldn’t be more excited to see the first photos of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. And while fans are excited, the other royal family members are certainly ecstatic as well. We can only imagine how spoiled little Archie will be in the coming years as his family — including the infamous Sarah Ferguson, who absolutely adores children — dotes on him.

Fergie has spoken before about how much she loves kids, and with the arrival of Archie, we’re all wondering if she has grandkids on the brain in regards to her own daughters. Will she be pushing for babies sooner rather than later from her own family? Here’s what we think.

Sarah Ferguson is the great-aunt of newborn Archie

The world has been anxiously waiting Archie’s arrival since Meghan announced her pregnancy. CBS News reports shortly after his birth, Meghan announced the name of the royal child who now stands seventh in line for the throne. And Meghan and Harry are clearly over the moon with joy. As Harry said, “His looks are changing every single day. Parenting is amazing.”

As for Sarah Ferguson, there’s no doubt this baby means a lot to her. She’s Archie’s great-aunt, and we can’t forget that she was also very close with Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, prior to the fatal car crash. Town & Country notes Fergie wrote in her 1996 autobiography of Diana, “She was two years younger than I, and I strove to support and protect her as I would a younger sister — as I still do today, as a best friend.” Princes Harry and William also grew up with Fergie’s daughters, Eugenie and Beatrice, too, intertwining the two families even more.

She’s stated in the past that she’d make an excellent grandmother

We wouldn’t be surprised if meeting Archie causes Fergie to push her daughters — or at least her married daughter, Princess Eugenie — into having kids. Fergie’s stated in the past how she’d be an excellent grandmother as well, so we know she’s thought about the possibility before. Entertainment Tonight reports before Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank in October 2018, Fergie mentioned how she’d be an excellent grandmother as well. “They are thrilled because I write children’s books and I’m a child,” Fergie said of Eugenie and Brooksbank potentially having kids. “And I haven’t grown up. So they’ll just go, ‘Here, take [it], Mom!'”

At the time, it was too early to take Fergie’s comments too seriously — but now that her daughter is coming up on a year of marriage, perhaps she’ll be reminding Eugenie that she’d make an excellent babysitter.

Will we be seeing future children from Eugenie or Beatrice?

So, with Archie in mind, is another royal pregnancy announcement incoming? There aren’t any clues yet that Eugenie has babies on the brain, but Romper noted it may have been discussed amongst the family back around Eugenie and Brooksbank’s wedding. And fans are already pushing for Eugenie to have a baby on her Instagram. On a recent photo she posted of Meghan and Harry, one fan commented, “Sweetheart, you’re next.” And another added, “You next Eugenie please!”

As for Beatrice, it may be awhile longer before we hear of any potential baby news from this royal. Harper’s Bazaar notes she’s rumored to be dating a man by the name of Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and they recently made their first joint appearance. Could another royal wedding be incoming? Fans sure hope so. And with another couple tying the knot, perhaps Fergie can look forward to grandchildren from Beatrice, too.
